Wow, I did not know that was happening! I'll probably do that when it is released. I have been really annoyed with the constant pestering to change to my real name, so this should be nice.

So essentially, they are saying "this many people cared enough about the video to have an opinion on it." Ew. You're right, that is a bad idea.

So, my channel "Larry Simmons" has reached 200+ subscribers in less than 30 days (and I only have 1 video there). I certainly didn't expect such quick success!

Yet another change to youtube. Now when you go to subscriptions It shows a top to bottom single file list of videos with the most recent on top. I liked it better when it just showed the ones you haven't watched.

That is mostly due to the fact that he had a large, pre-built audience who already watched all his videos, and naturally migrated over to his new channel. Plus he publicized his switch well on his main channel, so all of his subscribers were aware of the situation.

@Spider Great blog post! Instead of putting my opinion in the comments, I figured i'd put it here (as to spark a discussion).

Personally, I love the new channel designs. If you add a wallpaper to it then you've got my favorite so far (replacing the white with black or any color of your choosing would also be o.k.). It's actually pretty customizable (more so then the previous one) and the channel banner thing is lovely. For those in need of a template, an excellent one can be found here: Link (check the description for a download link). My only problem is the fact that the file size has to be pretty small, which results in a pretty low quality JPEG. The channel trailer is also pretty weird, so I ended up just putting my most recent film up there.

Naturally, if you want to give feedback on my channel design, it's very much appreciated .
