Actually, from what I've heard it's very simple (and keep in mind I read this of a site of the internet, so it may not be true) . Say a video has got 3 likes and 10 dislikes. It still has a higher chance to get on the front page of the search results then a video with 6 likes and 1 dislikes, purely because YouTube doesn't make a difference between likes and dislikes. It's pretty silly in my opinion, and I think it should be changed.

. In order to appeal to a copyright claim you have to be a partner, then give your phone number and finally wait. I can get that they make it hard, because of the massive amount of people visiting the site. Bit still!
