Amy Pond (yes I know she's the only yellow one but I really, really liked the face and the orange eyebrows)

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

And may I recommend these Dalek designs?
They're a bit closer to scale, and look more sleek and refined than most.
That first one is probably the best Dalek design that I've encountered, and would certainly be my first choice.

The Weeping Angel is fine, and the hair issue isn't a big deal.
The slope looks off not being printed, but over all it's a pretty good figure.

For River Song it's a good design, but it doesn't seem very River-ish.
I wouldn't have known who it was without the text.
The problem probably lies with her having very distinctive hair styles, and Lego's not having the right molds.
Not sure what hair piece would be better, so go ahead and stick with that one.

ANP, That would be a great Steampunk Dalek, but it's a bit too makeshift for normal ones.

And for the other figures:
Brown hair might be better suited to Eleven, and it should probably be a bit longer. (Like this.)
Black pants would be more accurate, but the gray is fine.

Amy is....Yellow. But the rest is good. (And please don't mix skin tones, it's very distracting.)
River looks better with the gun, but still...
Great job on Rory! The face and hair are perfect.
The problem with Rory's dad is the eyes. Everybody else has pupils, but he doesn't. That makes him stand out about as much as Yellow Amy. I really can't comment on the accuracy since I haven't seen that episode.

I have it too. It's from the damaged Darth Vader from the "Rogue Shadow" Star Wars set. It's from the Force Unleashed, I think. Here it is: Rogue Shadow
EDIT: it's similar, I dont know if its the same

I need a new name! HELP

How do I make her more River-ish?

I don't have any longer hair but I'll change the color of his hair.

P.A.L.R. (People Against LEGO Racism) I really don't enjoy when people say don't mix colors. That's like saying a black person in a group of white people is distracting. Everyone isn't the same color in real life so why cant an animation imitating life be the same.

I wouldn't of even noticed until you pointed it out.

To quote The Doctor: "I don't know!"
But stay tuned, cuz' I'm working on it.

EDIT: Black Widow's head maybe...Still looking for good hair, but that may have to work.

Ok, I'm sure that'll help.

Well, that's nothing wrong with mixing skin tones, but you need to keep things consistent.
There have been a lot of back-and-forth fights discussions about this issue, so I'll just say this: "IRL, Matt Smith, Arthur Darvill and Karen Gillan are all white. So you need to keep them all the same skin tone in the animation. If you were going to have Martha Jones/Freema Agyeman then yes, you would want to use something different.

Using various flesh tones to represent real life skin differences is one thing, but switching it out for a slightly better face print is another. It doesn't match the actor's skin, it doesn't match the other character's skin, and it just doesn't fit very well.

But carry on if you wish, it's your video not mine. mini/wink

I wouldn't of even noticed until you pointed it out.

Yeah, I seem to notice stuff like that...

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

I didn't recognize River at all.  Like Pritchard, I agree with the hair, but the face isn't very accurate, either--I think it would need some wrinkles or something like that.  And you should really change her hands to flesh-colour...

For the Doctor, black legs would be better, and the face doesn't fit very well--I'd suggest something with less prominent eyebrows.

@Mjolnir:  Ah, yes, makes sense that they'd make a double-sided head for the battle damaged version.

El Bump.

Here are some minifigs I've recently made:

A team of crazy action heroes with some very punny names.

http://universe.lego.com/en-us/community/creationlab/GetMedia.aspx?id=edb078d0-31ad-485a-88f6-ee835ec4adb9

From left to right:  Sgt. Dash Board (weapons master), Xavier Selves (driver and mechanic), Cliff Hanger (team leader), Mia Asma (stealth and martial artist), and Jack Hammer (explosives expert and crazy person).

http://universe.lego.com/en-us/community/creationlab/GetMedia.aspx?id=6fd26b00-a79a-47fd-85e0-1d2b9f36b7ce

Mr. Vertigo, an enigmatic and eccentric entity from another dimension.  Part illusionist, part superhero, nobody is really sure who exactly he is.  He seemingly appears and disappears at will, often materializing out of nowhere to help others in distress, only to mysteriously vanish without a trace when the job is done.

http://universe.lego.com/en-us/community/creationlab/GetMedia.aspx?id=cf4078a4-ea10-49c4-972b-0bd6a1773e3b

Some random characters I made when I went on a minifig-making spree after I acquired the Desert Skiff and Wolverine Chopper Showdown sets.  From left to right:  An explorer and big-game hunter who fights villains with his trusty elephant gun; an alien superhero; an evil-genius-type character, and some random scared dude.  (I just love that hair and head combination... mini/XD )

EDIT:  I just noticed the pictures are rather dim and blurry. mini/blankexpression  Oh, well.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Okay, first off, I LOVE MR VERTIGO!

The pun names on the first load are great, and I really like the designs for Mia Asma and Xavier Selves. Not sure why Jack Hammer is holding a duck, but since the duck's design is pretty good I'll just skip on past that.

Are these guys for a film, or just for fun, 'coz I'd love to see an animation with Mr Vertigo.

I really love these guys and the background.
If you're making a film with these guys, and they are as brilliant characters as they look, I'd love to help voice if I could.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

The set in the background is amazing.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Thanks for the great feedback! mini/smile

I've got several ideas for films with these characters, though at this point they're more or less disconnected bits and pieces floating around in my head.  I'm definitely going to make something with Mr. Vertigo, as he's a mascot of sorts for my films.  I hope to make a superhero comedy film with him in it (tentatively entitled Interview with a Superhero ) in which a team of weird superheroes with odd superpowers have to defeat an insane supervillain.

The action team was more for fun, though there's a good chance I might make films with them at some point in the future.

He's holding it because it's a remote-controlled bomb.  It's also great for psychological warfare.  It takes a lot of courage to be able to face a crazy person armed with a rubber duck charging at you.

@END Films:  Thanks!

I'm glad you like them!  I'll definitely keep this in mind.  I love your films, and it'd be great if you could voice.

I really appreciate your offer too, Jampot.

I'll be certainly letting both of you know if I need voice acting. mini/smile

Well I'm back with a new doctor (and companion):

What should I name him?

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Why not name him Captain Bones Captain Bonebeard?
Sorry it's so simple, but this is the kind of name that suits your style. If I had to name him in my style, he would probably be named "Captain Fregumund".
