Ok so how I make my animations is I capture them with a digital camera, then import them into wmm and add sound etc there, what would you recommend I replace wmm with? I'd like it if it had the options of rendering in 1280x720 (for youtube) and maybe multiple audio tracks, but that's not a necessity. Thanks guys 
Well, I use pinnacle studio, the cheapest version is $50 though, and I'm not sure how much you want to spend, if anything, but it does put out in full HD, has two audio tracks, and is really easy for inputting images captured on a digital camera, which is how I do it too. I personally recommend it.
There's a free version of Pinnacle i use, You can do two different audio tracts also.
How did you get pinnacle for free?

I've used it and found it to be exactly what I needed. I wouldn't say it sucks, but what I would say is that it is not primarily the best option. I used it before to string together my pictures from my camera into an avi file. The reason I used it was because it was free, and a low file size.
I think if your looking for special effects you should use wax 2.0 its really good and free but if you have money the best one is after effects or sony vegas but they cost alot. This is my opinion you can think differently.
VideoPad is excellent, and it is free. It is linear and has some pretty basic effects and transitions. It also has green screen Kroma Key software for overlays. It is my favortie of anything I have tried.
How about Wavosaur?
I found a stop motion program called 'Sharp Animator'
Adobe Project Rome is free. Its great for 2d animation.

Hello Everyone, it seems this thread has become out dated due to the person incharge of updating it leaving. I will in the next week or so be posting an entire new list of software and I ask that you PM me any software you suggest and give me small but detailed information on it. thanks

NO.
It's impossible to do that in stop-motion. You have to do all the inbetweens manually.
Inbetween generating, or "tweening", can only be done in computer animation programs (where the object you're animating is made in the software) such as Flash (2D) or Blender (3D).
