Re: Post your logo here!

I really like the logo Carousel! It has great potential to be animated! I like that only one section of it is red. Your ideas for how to animate it would be lovely, really looking forward to seeing it some day. I'm not super experienced in that type of animating, but I did animate my own logo with After Effects.

Re: Post your logo here!

Thanks Repelling Spider - it'll be challenge to animate it, to say the least mini/tongue . I do admire the way you animated your logo, especially with the fishing line noise.

Re: Post your logo here!

I drew this almost 5 years ago now and it has never been changed and it never will be.

Looks pretty cool, Lucas mini/smile

Here are some rough drafts of the sketches I posted earlier.

Re: Post your logo here!

I like them topitmonkeydog, but I feel some of the bohemian-ness has been lost with the clean, sterile lines of the two birds. The upper two are interesting, but I still like the earlier smudged ink concepts (where's Top-hat Bat? mini/lol ).

Re: Post your logo here!

Yeah... So my group voted on the designs and the top bird is what we are going for. Another one of my group members designed a top hat bat which we are also going with, as well as a duck and a squirrel staring lovingly into each other's eyes.

About the sterility of the lines, I tried making it more like ink, like the font it fades into, but I could not figure how. I probably need to download a new brush or something. However this logo is nowhere near complete so I figured I should move on and make more concepts.
As for the smudged ink concepts, if you are referencing the last post I made, those are just a low quality iTouch photo of some pencil drawings mini/tongue

I will probably be posting more updates on our design in order to get feedback. We are getting some graphic designer feedback tomorrow. mini/smile

Re: Post your logo here!

Here's mine, "I Built That" productions, which will start appearing at the end of all my features.  It's the final frame in an animation where the logo "builds" itself.

Again with the teal trim!  I love those teal bricks from the turn of the century.  (see my video "Miminalist Association")

Re: Post your logo here!

aw, that's adorable mini/cat that teal color is marvelous, too!

I believe we finally decided on a final logo for our magazine (incorporating the bat, actually.)

One of the guys on my team drew a whole bunch of animals and stuff so we decided to use his bat ^.^ I designed the text though. Also, if you want to follow our progress, we have a Pinterest where we will be posting everything (including a link to the final magazine in a few months)

Re: Post your logo here!

topitmonkeydog, to be honest (don't take offence), the bat seems to me to be a product of a 5 minute session in something like Kid Pix - the triangles and pixel-like lines really don't work for me. I do like the text though. I suggest you draw up the bat (what happened to Top-hat Bat?) on a thicker, absorbent sheet of paper, such as watercolour paper, and use a black marker, so it creates a more smudged, old feel. Then scan it into the computer and fix it up to your preference. Right now, it doesn't seem very attractive.

Re: Post your logo here!

Lol calm down
We haven't decided anything yet
One thing I was going to try and do is print everything out and trace the bat and the script font using the calligraphy pens (with inkwells and everything!! Super cool!) From there I will import it into Illustrator and vectorize it. do you think this will improve it?
In all seriousness, do you guys really not like the bat? We were pretty unsure of what to do because the guy who actually drew it has been absent for a good long time (we had to hack into his computer just to get that drawing)
So seriously what should I do? Which logo works best? (Just to clarify we chose a bat because our theme is local things and our city is famous for the largest urban bat colony...) the assignment is due on Tuesday so I have time to change things.

Re: Post your logo here!

I am calm mini/lol
I think the ink will be good, and although as you said, your location seems to go hand-in-hand with the bat, I still don't like it. I personally suggest you go with the Penny-Farthing bicycle.
