I am working on a brickfilm that includes plasma swords. Here is my first take on a plasma sword.

There is some problems, but I am more focused on the outcome of the sword effect.

I am deciding to call it a beam sword.

VERY short test 
That looks just normal green lightsaber?
It is like a light saber, but I don't have the white core. I just wanted to mess around with what I could make. I will make a longer test.
