The animation is pretty great, and it looks exciting. But I think I noticed a whole lot of light flicker.

That looks intentional to me, flashing lights, dramatic effect, am I right? Looks good
That's obviously intentional 
it's a light play combined with quite decent animation. Definitely looks exciting.
