One year after the events of Redherring, Lucas and Mike have joined an off-the-record government group whose objective is to neutralize threats to national security by any means necessary.  Their target is a terrorist organization known as 'The Smiths', who are behind the 'packages'.  Looking for revenge, Lucas soon takes matters into his own hands, causing a rift between him and Mike...

It is recommended that you watch the first two films to get a better understanding of the plot.

Wow, I can't quite believe it's been 22 months since I first started animation.  I'm really sorry it took so long, but there were all sorts of problems which caused delays.
I never expected it to take quite this long, nor did I expect it to exceed 40 minutes, let alone a whole hour!  I have to say a huge thank-you on behalf of Jonathan and myself to everyone who has helped and supported us in making these films over the past four years.
I can safely say I won't be doing any more brickfilms of this length (at least not animating by myself).  This will be the last film of the 'Package' series, and I hope you have all enjoyed the films as much as we have enjoyed making them.

Re: The Package III - Deadfire (Completed film)

It was confusing the first time I saw it, but you're right, it makes a lot more sense after watching the first two parts. mini/tongue

Yeah, it's got light-flicker, sets bumps and some choppy animation, but the story is so incredibly immersive that I barely noticed the flaws. The voice actors are incredible, and really keep the longer talking scenes interesting. It seems a lot like the old classics with the great voice acting, longer length, more thought-out plot, but slightly lower technical values. It's very enjoyable, and doesn't feel drawn-out at all.

You've obviously gotten better over the course of filming this, it's just harder to tell at times due to the up-and-down nature of the quality. And while I noted the fact that the animation wasn't "Great," more-often-than-not I forgot about it's shortcomings due to the plot.

Congrats, that's one amazing piece of art.

P.S. I bet if you were to do a short film now, it would be quite a bit better than a comparable film from the pre-Package III days.

Re: The Package III - Deadfire (Completed film)

Just finished watching! Very nice! Like Pritchard said, there were a few set bumps and light flicker here and there, but the story and the voice acting really kept me interested! I haven't watched Redherring, or the Package, so it was a little hard to understand, but I plan to watch those, too.

The Package IV?

Re: The Package III - Deadfire (Completed film)

Well, that was awesome! Enjoyed every second of it. Kudos to you for being able to pull off this feat; an hour-long brickfilm! Making long brickfilms isn't very easy...

Re: The Package III - Deadfire (Completed film)

I would never make a film that long in lego, unless the people and things being lego is part of the story.

Re: The Package III - Deadfire (Completed film)

I see your point, but I'm simply using Lego as a means of telling a story.  I'm not advertising the Lego brand, therefore I personally prefer not to draw attention to the fact that it is Lego, and instead present my films as real life.

I really liked it bud. I thought it was a feat that my Batman film was twenty minutes but kudos to you. Like yourself I use the bricks as a form to tell my stories.Great job and look forward to your next project. Lastly how long did it take you from start to finish to complete this?

Re: The Package III - Deadfire (Completed film)

Well we started pre-production in February 2011, then started filming the first scene about 2-3 months after.  So that's roughly 22 months.

Hi, firstly apologies for resurrecting a dead thread, seemed more appropriate to post it here than start a new one somewhere else.
Just thought I'd let you all know that we're finally launching a DVD of this film, check it out HERE
