which means more likely a viewer will subscribe to a larger one. Anyways, these are my thoughts based on my experiences when I found amazing channels with very little popularity and popular ones with quite horrendous animations. Good luck!

Freaking heck.
But seriously, I am personally don't automatically think that a channel with more subscribers is automatically better than a channel with the same content but less subscribers (i.e. I love BlackNerdComedy, who has 76K subscribers, but I think JennaMarbles, who has similar content, but 5 million subscribers, is dreadful).
I will always be more impressed by the quality of someones work over the number of subs they have, even if it is a ridiculous amount.
And to the 60 people who subscribed, I love you.
Perhaps I should've mentioned that my theory applies to non-animators rather than us. We brickfilmers tend to have a little different taste. A good example is this and I do not mean to offend anyone so please don't get offended
I am subbed to both of these channels and I do like both of 'em:
So, these two channels both have 28 videos.
One is known as "Michael Hickox" - X and the other is "Nick Durron" - Y. Now let's see the stats...
X channel has 63K+ subscribers. Y channel has 7K+ subscribers.
X channel has good brickfilms. Y channel has marvelous brickfilms.
X chanel has 81million views. Y channel has over 2million views.
What does that say about our audience? In my opinion it's the monkey see monkey do effect at it's best. The other interesting factor is views and subscribers ratio, Roughly Y channel has 40 times less views yet only 9 times less subscribers. That's something to think about as well
