Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

My Halloween costume this year is the Eleventh Doctor.

I've been wearing this costume at these two country dances the past two days.

At the one I went to today, I went up to a random person and asked her to dance, she looked at me, said yes, and said in a british accent that her name was Amelia.

And then I almost died of sadness

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

That's a pretty scary costume... sorry, I couldn't resist >:)

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

KT, that's not available in the US. mini/sad
It looks like Netflix is my only option, so thanks for suggesting that Jargon.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Watched 'Angels take Manhattan', was a bit flawed and sentimental for my liking, plus the Angels have lost their scare factor, but it was all made up for by Amy and Rory's death. I honestly let out a theatrical 'Yay' at the end, because now that the Pongs are gone, Oswin and all her fantasticalness can come in and revolutionise the way the show works. mini/smile

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Very important question....
Are Jelly Babies more like gummy bears, or jelly beans? (Or are they something else entirely?)

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I was at a friend's house the other day, and there was this one episode about a kid with a gas mask. Anybody know an episode I could watch that would tell me about that? mini/confused

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

That was "The Empty child."
You can't see quite all the clips, but you can see most of it here.

They are apparently a cross between the two for they look more like gummy bears (little people actually) but have the harder outside/softer inside texture of a jelly bean.  It is important to note that one cannot fully appreciate jelly bellies unless one eats them with an excessively long striped knit scarf wrapped around one's neck.

I happen to have one of those now.

My sister knit it for me. It's thirteen feet long. I'll be going as the Doctor for Halloween.

Unfortunately, I have no jelly babies, nor do I know where you can get them. mini/sad

The almighty Amazon.com.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

That's a lovely scarf AnnoyingNoisesProductions, must of taken a long time to make! I can't believe that you guys haven't had Jelly Babies - you're missing out. If you do manage to track some down, I recommend English Jelly Babies. mini/wink

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I'm not sure that they even make Jelly Babies in America.

Awesome scarf!!  My mother-in-law knit a scarf for my brother-in-law as well.  I believe that he ordered his jelly babies on line.  Amazon.com has them!  mini/bigsmile

Well, here in Australia, there are many cheap types, but for the genuine experience, you have to get English Jelly Babies (which are made according to old English ways...)

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Bassettes Jelly Babies are the original Jelly Babies. Those are the ones that Tom Baker was always munching

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Coming to think of it, I'd probably make a good Doctor. I'm somewhat eccentric, like bow ties, and have a bad sense of time management. mini/tongue

I'm not sure if someones posted this but since

Spoiler (click to read)

Amy and Rory's departures in "Angels Take Manhattan" Jenna Louise Coleman will be taking the place of Amy as The Doctor's companion as "Clara Oswin". (Yes I know its the same actress who played Oswin Oswald, I think they might be related some how.)
