Re: Café Corner

LOVE IS OVER.

I knew when Lucasfilm announced a Seth Green-induced Star Wars comedy show that it had very limited potential, but this looks absolutely terrible.

Woah woah woah. Seth Green was awesome in the Mass Effect trilogy, so that's (IMO) not a bad thing.

Re: Café Corner

Oh, it doesn't appear to be that bad - it looks moderately funny in some parts and seems to be better than the Clone Wars (although I'd prefer anything over the Clone Wars). There's apparently a new Star Wars trilogy coming out soon, so that should redeem the franchise, along with... yes, a mature Star Wars game.

Re: Café Corner

When Family Guy and 'Robot Chicken' made fun of Star Wars, it was funny. When Star Wars makes fun of Star Wars, it just feels utterly contrived.

I thought Seth Green's performance was mostly serviceable, but I didn't like Joker that much. He's an okay actor when he's playing a character based mostly on himself. I think the fact that most of his writing and producing efforts are parodies of nerd stuff, rather than original concepts, is telling.

That looks very wrong, I could even watch the whole video.
Oh well, don't have to watch it if you don't want to.

1313 looks cool, though.

The main problem is that they're catering to vastly different audiences (or should be, in theory). A lot of humour derived from Star Wars is made funnier with more mature jokes, involving sexual themes or profanity (which works fantastically with Family Guy and Robot Chicken, as we all know), but obviously 'Detour' can't do the same.

Re: Café Corner

There were unsubstantiated rumors about more Star Wars movies a few years ago. Probably not true since nothing has come of them, so far. George says he doesn't plan to allow more films, but he backs down on promises more often than not so it's certainly not impossible that something will happen eventually.

Re: Café Corner

It was rumoured that the new trilogy would be centred on a group of characters completely unrelated to the Skywalker family, which would be a nice change. A film based around the time of KOTOR would be awesome - I'd love to see the Extended Universe explored further.

Hmm, I suppose you have a point. Still, I wont believe Lucas genuinely regrets creating Jar Jar Binks until he stops making toys of him.

As for another trilogy, I honestly would rather Lucas followed up with his plans to create a more 'adult' television series based on the Expanded Universe (which, like the idea for another trilogy, he's been talking about for years). For a while fans have been crying for Lucas to just let the people who did the CGI trailers for 'The Old Republic' to do a full TV show, or even a movie - and I agree.

What surprises me was how humble Neil Armstrong was. After the moon landing, he just remained out of the public eye and continued on with his life. I believe more people should follow this example...

School starts tomorrow, so let's see how my summer goals turned out.

Chris W. wrote:

Summer Goals:
1.) Finish my entry to Kitchen Sink.

2.) Get a decent amount done on The Internet Troll-Pocalypse (yes, I'm reviving that film, I'll talk about it later).

3.) Finish my picture of Fluttershy.

4.) Learn how to play the guitar.

5.) Get my brother to watch at least one episode of MLP.

1.) Didn't get that one done. And I probably won't enter it in time, though I'll try to finish it afterwards.

2.) I cancelled that film, so that one doesn't really count.

3.) I did actually finish that one, though I'm having problems with my scanner to show all of you.

4.) lol no im lazy

5.) Sort of. He said he'd watch an episode, I gave him my iPod with Lesson Zero playing, he watched the first few minutes, and then quit. Now he thinks that episode is all about Twilight and Spike trying to get cupcakes for the picnic.

It's been a weird summer. I don't want to go to back to school.
