Startrails1 by Simon665, on Flickr
This is my first attempt at a startrails image. I had stop prematurely because the temperature dropped suddenly and my lens fogged up ruining the series of photos after that.
The kit I used was Triggertrap for the iPhone. It cost £16.99 for the cable and dongle kit and then £6.99 for the iPhone app. This kit was attached to my Canon 60D and is basically a much cheaper and superior intervalometer than the £60+ official one for Canon cameras. This Triggertrap kit worked flawlessly and I highly recommend it.
Then I used some software called 'Startrails' which is a lot quicker then using Photoshop to stitch the images together.
I had to paint out a couple of aircraft trails using Photoshop.

I shot this with my new D-SLR yesterday:
Not really photography but I created my Panem District ID card

Whilst very clever, you need to watch out. I believe I'm right in saying that the US & Canada has some pretty strict laws about Fake ID's. So make sure you don't land yourself in trouble :-)
A bit compressed, but you get the general idea.

I like how you got the bird there.
I've been doing some experimental frames with stars:

Obviously, they need some work, but I like where this is going.
I'd love to apply this to a brickfilm one day, perhaps some surreal dream sequence, or maybe a love scene with hearts.
how did you do that? Is it natural or did you edit it?
It's natural. I'm really not sure how it works, but you've got to create a cutout and put it over the lens.
I was inspired by this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/powerpigse

Did you use just one singular light shinning on the subject for that effect, Squid? Or was it edited?
EDIT: Nevermind, you answered it in a ninja post. ![]()
Wow, looks really neat. The vignette is great. And I like the lighting.

Its a website that makes them. There free and legal and Panem is a fictional country. thecapitol.pn
