Repelling Spicer:
Awesome picture! Really like it. Simple, but very well taken. I don't know why but it makes me smile. mini/smile

1011Ev:
That is correct. Webcams have no adjustable aperture, the blades of which are what give a camera the bokeh on its depth of field.

Re: Photography

Figured that out the hard way. Now deciding if I should save up for a DSLR. mini/lol

No ones Going to comment on my photos?

Re: Photography

Chiro, don't take it personally, a lot of the photos here never get comments.

Re: Photography

I went on a road trip through the Pacific Northwest (US) this summer, here are a couple pictures; I'll upload some more a little later.

Washington, specifically on San Juan Island. mini/smile

Ah, looks great. At first I would've said something like Maine, until I saw you said Northwest. mini/tongue

He kind of looks like Freddie Mercury in that picture, don't you think? It reminds me of the album cover for Queen I...

Re: Photography

Nice image, ZP. What camera are you using?

Here is a promotional shot I took for my LEGO iPhone video. I used a white background when shooting and then added the vignette, floor reflection, screen reflection, home button, and text in post. It was a lot of fun making this look like a real iPhone ad. I hope to do more work like this:

Re: Photography

@ZP: It's nice, but you broke the rule of thirds; it's generally never a good idea to put the point of focus in the middle of the shot. This is an excepted rule throughout all of photography. mini/smile

Re: Photography

@ backyardlegos
I notice you're always referring to things like the rule of thirds and criticizing that people don't follow it, but IMO the whole point of photography is to experiment, and plus, rules are just there to be broken anyways. I think these common conventions in photography do apply sometimes, they can be very helpful, but other times they just don't matter, but it seems to me you're taking them to seriously and always saying that the photograph breaks the rule of thirds. I don't mean to be rude, it's just something I've observed and felt needed to be pointed out.
Anyways, ZP, that shot looks really cool. I love nature photography, especially macro, and I love your DOF and the contrast between the colors of the flower and the colors of the background.

Re: Photography

COOKIES. mini/yes
I shot this today on my NEX 5N using an 18-55mm zoom lens, on the macro setting, and edited it in iPhoto. Turned out quite nice actually.
