The gun shot looks all right. It might look better if the muzzle flare was bigger and if there was more than one frame where it was visible. You could also try shining a light on the set to light up the appropriate area around the muzzle flare(and the muzzle flare itself).
The blood effect doesn't look too good. I think that you meant the 1x1 circular plate to look like a blood stain on his shirt, but it'd look better if you used a 1x1 tile. From this angle though, the blood suddenly appearing on his chest looks somewhat strange; it would probably look better if the blood shot out of his back instead.
There's a good amount of light flicker and also a constant change of focus. I'd recommend reading this tutorial for information on how to fix this.
