Also, I'm liking that lens flare in your profile picture.

Thanks!

I don't have a personal production thread, not yet...

Thanks. mini/smile

ANP, I like it! The blur looks very realistic, and the set and lighting looks very nice as it always does. Your use of canted angles has influenced me to start to use them myself. Thank you for that.

It looks real because it is. mini/cat
I'm glad tilted camera angles are becoming contagious. It's just as I planned.

Here's another frame.
It really, really gives a totally wrong impression of the film when it's so out of context, but I just love this random shot so much. The character only appears in this shot.

I'm really liking putting ridiculous over-the-top lens flares on stuff.
(I made it myself)

Great frames, Squid!

Hooray for real motion blur and fitting gun flare effects!

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Wow, Sharks & Clowns looks to be turning out more awesome than I imagined it would.

Can't wait to see it!

I feel the same way. xD

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Hahaha love that frame, Squid! I'm glad to see you producing something in a short time space. Can't wait to see this film. I don't care if it does have light flicker, it's still going to rock.

I feel like there is a bit too much headroom on that shot, and I'm not a fan of that particular flare. Cool lighting, though.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I'm with NXT on that flare, it seems a little too symmetrical for a gunshot.

Another image from the scene I'm working on.  It's almost entirely composed of crowd shots, which take a LONG time to animate.  Unfortunately the shot from the previous frame I uploaded has been animated, and that particular one took quite a while.  However, I have taken advice given, and tilted the camera down for this shot (his shoulders are now in view).  You can't really appreciate the complexity of this sequence just from one image, you'd have to see it all in motion...

I always loved your lighting, Squid... mini/smile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@ANP, The "Clown's throne room" pic is sweet, no two ways about it. The blur and back-lighting are both executed well, and the set itself is good. I don't care for the tilted angle in a still picture, (It looks kinda awkward.) but I'm sure it'll be fine in the film. The "King packing heat" pic is not nearly as cool though, the background is too plain, there's hardly any Lego in it, and the gun flare doesn't look right. That frame really would have benefited from a tilted angle, but as has been said before, still frames always look better in a moving video. (Especially a video made by ANP.)

@Saminatorger, Much better, and I agree, crowd shots are the bane of brickfilmers.
The set is sorta plain, but with all the people, it's not a big deal.  (Although adding a few more props would go a long way.) But may I ask why a Jack Stone figure is in this? IMHO those really don't mesh well with true minifigures.

@Loic F-B, Beautiful frame. If only it was for a Man of all Leisures film. mini/tongue

And ummm....I sure hope all that counts as a critique towards the "Two feedbacks, then a new frame rule", but if not, here's a frame anyway. It's for my Tongal film, and yes, I am so going to over-use those Lifelites! mini/devil

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Ohmeegawd thank you for saying Lifelites! I never heard that before you said it. When I looked it up I was sure that I should get some soon. Thank you! Nice frame btw mini/smile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Awwww, yeah! Great use of Lifelites, Pritchard. And that shot - I love shots from behind a fence/something obstructing a part of the scene. mini/wink Looks great.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I put my emphasis on ridiculous and over-the-top.
It is a King with guns after all. mini/smile

I angled the shot so as not to see the pit of fire I built so it wouldn't be spoiled for the other shot which takes place in an apocalyptic war zone, as they're completely separate shots giving a brief glimpse of the intense battles, which I should mention are both extremely insignificant parts of the film. I gave it a very blank background because it's at night and very dark, with all of the smoke from the war you wouldn't be able to see any stars.

@Deadfire frame: I'm sure the crowd shot will look extremely impressive in motion if done well, I'm so wowed when I see that someone's moved a bunch of objects at once. The frame, however, by itself doesn't really look impressive or interesting.

@Pritchard's frame: It's kinda hard to see what's going on because of the dimness and the fence, but maybe it's significant. Is it for the animation challenge perhaps? Fencing?
(Har har)

It could probably look nice in a video though, if used right. I like that you have on set lighting. I don't think that those can be over used.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@Pritchard Studios you actually noticed that? haha

@ANP yeah, I couldn't find a better angle that doesn't give away too much (This is a pretty key scene)

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@ANP, Ah! That clears things up. Now I really can't wait to see the film. And no, the frame is not for the animation challenge. It's for my entry to the Lego DC Comics contest over on Tongal.com.
(The darkness is intentional, but I don't want to say why quite yet... mini/devil )

@Saminatorger, Yeah.....It's kinda hard to miss. mini/shifty

@Everyone else, Thanks! This is one of my favorite shots so far, (Except maybe the motorcycle going up the stairs scene) so I'm glad that you like it. The Lifelites are incredibly amazing, and I'll be releasing a review of them whenever my new mic comes in. So keep an eye out for it if your interested in getting some!

A frame from a brickfilm I'm working on, Lone Soldier - Remembrance

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I like it, the framing is what really stands out to me. I do really like that truck as well. Though, some recommendations, I wouldn't use that dark blue background, it doesn't seem very realistic to the war scene. I'd either use a lighter shade, or SFX it in. One other thing, I'd add a bit more detail to the desert, maybe add a few tan studs to the ground to be like clumps of sand or add some small plants or something like that. Other than that, it looks pretty well done.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

EDIT: Whoops, double post.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I have to agree with Chris. A dark blue background is unacceptable for a war brickfilm that has guns. It needs to be darker. Also, could add some dead soldiers, unless this is the beginning of the battle. I really like the quality, though. What camera do you use?

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Thanks for the advice guys mini/smile  I'm planning to use the background as a blue screen, so it'll probably be quite different in the finished product.

@Chris W.:  Now that I think about it, the desert is a bit plain.  I'll add a few clumps of sand and rocks in areas where I haven't started filming yet.

@Troodon: Yeah, it's the beginning of the battle, so there are no dead bodies yet.  I use a Logitech Orbit AF webcam
