Re: The Batman discussion thread.

If you really wanna see The Dark Knight Rises, go during a midday show (in the evening it might be sold out), get a ticket for a movie in the hall that's right next to the hall of TDKR. And voila.

Beg/plea, convince them to come with you, mow the lawn.  You really going to let them make you miss out?

I'm just wondering how you guys liked the new movie, I  thought this thread would be booming.

Re: The Batman discussion thread.

The "trilogy trailer". Basically, it's a compilation of clips from all three movies. From start to finish of the Dark Knight and his heroic deeds and services to Gotham City.

Have you seen a big-chinned boy?

Re: The Batman discussion thread.

I guess we can post spoilers about The Dark Knight Rises here?

WARNING, SPOILERS:
I think the whole Robin thing at the end was unnecesary and it could have ended way more tragic, Batman doesn't deserve a happy ending. And did anyone really think for a second he was REALLY dead?
What I really loved about the film is the epic scenes between Batman and Bane. And Anne Hathaway as Catwoman was also really awesome.
And having knowledge of the Batman comics, the twist at the end wasn't really a surprise to me.

Re: The Batman discussion thread.

SPOILERS COMING

I thought the ending was actually pretty great. Bruce Wayne finally finds peace, John Blake discovers the Batcave, and Gotham ends up mostly in peace. I liked the scene where Gordon discovered Batman was actually Bruce Wayne; right before Batman's "death." Another thing I liked about the film was the fact that it's also a bit of Alfred's film; he's involved much more than in "The Dark Knight" this time. There he was really just Bruce's slave and protector, but here he has a big conflict with Bruce which involves him much more in the story. Although what I found kinda weird in this film was Bane's death; Catwoman just shoots him with the Batpod and he dies, which is more of a funny and silly death. I mean I think Bane's death could've been much more bigger, like Joker's death in Burton's 1989 Batman, even though it turned out that Bane wasn't the main villain. But as I said in the "What was the last movie you watched" thread: it's an enjoyable, fun, fantastic film, with great performances and a great story, and I'd say it's very near to reaching the brilliance of "The Dark Knight."

And I actually did think for a few minutes that Batman died, but then when there were the shots of Alfred sitting by a table in the restaurant and ordering a drink, it was obvious he was going to see Bruce sitting by another table near, finally having a good life.

Re: The Batman discussion thread.

Here's an interesting read about TDKR, one that makes a number of valid points.

Re: The Batman discussion thread.

^^And yet, after seeing the movie I'm still like "F*** YEAH THAT WAS AWESOME!"

Re: The Batman discussion thread.

This is actually a pretty good review. I agree with him on the fact that the movie ends kinda open ended, but I don't entirely mind that. Although I would like to see Nolan make a Batman and Robin film, that'd be cool.
