Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Brave

Oh man I loved this movie a heckuva bunch

Comedic timing was spot-on (best part was that there were no jokes that children can constantly repeat about over and over annoyingly like Up had, most of them were wonderful sight gags). The animation was brilliant. Super awesome film, I really really liked it. It's a really fun movie to watch, it's super enjoyable and I had a blast watching it.

Go see it, you'll have a good time.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I think Brave got a little too kiddish after

Spoiler (click to read)

Merida's mom was turned into a bear.

Plus it isn't nearly as grand as the trailers make it out to be. But it's still a good great movie.

Mission: Impossible II (2000)

Even though it had great action sequences, cool fight scenes, and cool car chases, this wasn't as good at the first film. I just found some parts too slow and lacking suspense.

Major Payne (1995)

Lots of guys over at my school have been quoting this one, and it turned out to be really funny. It also had a good moral. It's also the first time I've watched a Damon Wayans film.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Why did I watch this again? Oh, yeah, for the CGI.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)

I gotta say, this is one of the least predictable movies I've ever seen...and one of the funniest. I've never seen anything with the Monty Python group, so it took me a while to get the jokes. The ending I really didn't understand until the Main Menu came up when the music finished. Then I was like, "Okayyyyyyyyy......". mini/tongue

Escape from Alcatraz
Great movie. Clint Eastwood's brilliant, and the movie didn't feel the need to have some amazing set-piece every five minutes. It just worked at its own pace and got on with the story, which was great.

The Avengers
For the second time. That's how much I loved it. This is definitely my favourite movie (not the best movie ever, but my favourite). I was so chuffed when

Spoiler (click to read)

the SHIELD Helicarrier appeared. They hadn't shown it in any of the trailers and I was worried it might not appear. And Hulk VS Loki was hilarious. The guy sitting behind me practically cried with laughter at that.

Now, I'm just hoping Iron Fist, Spider-woman, Sub-Mariner and Black Panther. Then there could be a Defenders movie. That'd rock.

I dunno. Same thing as the third one. Better than the second, but not quite as good as the first.

The Amazing Spiderman
It was a good movie, but I think they should already have started making remake. It's a bit to soon. The climax of the movie was great though.

Brave
Awesome movie. I love Pixar movies.
While I would agree that the movie takes a turn for the childishly goofy after

Spoiler (click to read)

the queen gets bearified

, I don't think that equals a turn for the worse. The story was still great, and while it may not equal some of Pixar's other brilliant films (think: Up, Wall-e, etc), it was still far, far better than any animated movie I've seen in... well, really since Toy Story 3. Overall, I would love to see another movie in the same world.

Awesome. My only complaint is that there were some unrealistic backgrounds near the beginning.

The Avengers
To tell the truth, I was skeptical of this movie. I thought it would be just another blockbuster with plot-driven characters. I thought it would be almost as bad as Transformers 2. I was wrong. Go see it before it's not in theaters anymore... NOW! 9.5/10

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

To Catch a Thief
I didn't like it as much as the other Hitchcock films I'd seen. It was probably very good back in the day but it hasn't lasted too well throughout the ages (as in it was sort of dated and the humor wasn't very accessible, etc.) But it was still superb.

Princess Mononoke
Very good. Very bloody. Also very trippy. I started calling it the "bloody Japanese movie."
Besides that, it was a very good story, but the characters weren't as interesting as Miyazaki's other films. This was very different than most of them, and the strength lied in the plot rather than the characters.
