Re: YouTube

I'm considering changing channels, TheRogex13 no one remembers, and numbers in usernames just give me the creeps. mini/bigsmile

If lots of people didn't watch the vids on your old channel, then why would they watch them on your new one? Plus, you said you don't have much views... but you are going to have even less on your new channel.

I actually have a good excuse for having low views. The reason for the low views is the lack of videos on my channel, and the lack of videos is being caused by the discouragement of my username. I already know my username is bad, so I'm basically holding off on making a (what could possibly be a great) brickfilm, until I am sure I enjoy my username. I hope that's a good explanation as to why you think that if we do bad on one channel, creating a second channel won't be any better.

Re: YouTube

It really doesn't matter what your username on YouTube is, to be perfectly honest. It could be the craziest thing in the world; then what you call yourself, your unofficial YouTube name, could be as awesome or professional or whatever as you want. I promise you, all of you, EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET, that if you make amazing videos, with a high quality of animation, story, and the like, and release them frequently enough, you will get a lot of views. Doesn't matter what your username is. Because at the end of the day, nobody is going on YouTube and looking up random usernames that pop into their head, thinking "I wonder if there's a brickfilmer with this name on YouTube." No, people are going on YouTube and looking up brickfilms, LEGO videos, etc. etc. etc. It's too much trouble to make an entirely new channel just because you don't like your initial one. If you really care that much about it, make good videos, then when you have a following, make a more professional one, and direct all your subscribers to there. Not being happy with a YouTube username is, no offense, the stupidest reason ever for not making good videos. Make a good studio name, stick that in all your films, call your channel that, and I promise you that your YouTube username will make no difference whatsoever in terms of how many people view your films. Re: YouTube

How'd you even come up with your username? Is it made of real words? [/sarcastic] (<----  Please note that), (just messing with you kcirb).

I came up with my username 3-4 years ago, I decided to keep with, because it's just the name I USE. I respect those who want  to change their username like dynamite's explanation. mini/tongue
At the end, it's all up to you, the user. mini/wink

Re: YouTube

The reason my username is 'ziggy12000' is because my parents made it for me.

I had wanted a YouTube account for a while, and when they made it, I was 10 years old, and not very good at that computer stuff.

I probably should have switched when I didn't have any subscribers, but oh well...

That's okay, I like ziggy12000, and it's actually pretty easy to remember. mini/wink

Re: YouTube

Be glad they didn't name it something like the 'Zigster' mini/lol . To be honest, I really like my username. It's (imo) easy to remember and is fairly short. They only thing I'm scared of is that people will pronounce it wrong since it's dutch (it's pronounces CASEret).

Re: YouTube

I've always thought it wrong, then...

Re: YouTube

Really? Well, I don't mind. Think or speak it the way you want mini/smile .

Thought I'd post this to let everyone know of a new feature added to YouTube. I think it may just be for "partners", but if you go to your account's settings and then look under the "Channel Settings" section and click "defaults". You can now enter in tags, titles, descriptions and other things that you want to be the default for new video uploads. If you have something you put in most of your video's descriptions (say your facebook link or twitter), you can enter it here and it will automatically insert it when you begin uploading a new video. Same goes for keywords you use often.

I just got this today. Looks cool Im trying it out.

1. He may want it to sound more professional. (Read what Troodon posted above).
2. He may want a fresh start.
3. Why would you change your channel if you could Steve? mini/tongue

I like my channel, the only thing I would change is to get rid of the 8, but that name has been taken for years

Haha I always think of it as KEYs-Rhett.

Re: YouTube

Alright, I'm deciding to change channels. The films I made about a year ago are getting made fun of just because I copied Fancypants because I didn't have any original ideas at the time. Plus, I am a lot better animator now and I want to get away from my n00bish  self and have a fresh start.

Re: YouTube

well, 2 things, to jump on the bandwagon with, yes, sometimes changing ones uername is a good thing, I changed mine from "alfa Animatinons", a pretty lame, midicore name, then swapped it out to a new, different one that stands out, "cooked cat productions", and, now, I'm already back to where I left off, my last channel was sitting around the 45 sub mark, and it started in November 2010. so, yr and a half ago, yet, last night, my new channel, "Cooked cat productions" hit 50subs in about 2 months. and at 2500 yiews, its almost already half the total views of my first one....

it may also just be that I am more active on this(videos every week)

Re: YouTube

@Troodon Well, first thing I recommend you do is see if you can find out if you're subscribers are [dis]liking your videos. If they dislike them then just close your channel, don't notify them with a video. If the majority of them however like your videos notify them.

@RepellingSpider I know, whenever I tell some of my foreign friends about my film they say that too mini/lol !

@CookedCat Congrats on the 50 subs mini/smile !

Re: YouTube

@Keesret, thanks man, yea, I'm pretty happy bout it. mini/bigsmile

It's my newer videos that have more likes. My old ones were getting too many dislikes that I had to disable the like/dislike system altogether.
