Small question/poll-type-thing
If any of you had the option of changing your youtube username once without the loss of subscribers, views, or videos, would you do so?
I certainly would. I feel as if my youtube username is the downfall to my content. I am not proud of the name. Yes it may be unique, but it's too confusing for the majority of people. This brings me to another question. When coming up with a name, do you guys have a unique reason for the name chosen? I'm am trying to come up with a good name, which is easily remembered, and has meaning, and I just wanted to hear some opinions to coming up with a name. Thanks.

If you want your name to have meaning behind it, none of us can really help you with that... what might be meaningful to you might not be meaningful to someone else ![]()
But to try and answer your question, did you ever have any nicknames that your friends or family called you? That might be a good place to start, as the name would have meaning behind it.
Or you could just use your real name on your YouTube account, if you feel that you're old enough for that. I wish I could change my YouTube profile name to my real name, so other people would know that its my work and not some pseudonym.
Hope that kind of answered your question

Yes I have tried to incorporate my name into a username. Almost always it will be taken.
My current username actually uses my name. It is: 'emayesoen'. em= m ay = a es=s o =o en = n. It spelt M-A-S-O-N, but it is actually very confusing without explanation. As for the meaningful part, I think what I meant there was something that many people could identify what it was, or something along those lines.
I too deliberated a lot on my YouTube name because I wanted it to be something memorable, catching, and could easily be represented with a logo of some sort. I read that having a good YT name can help things a lot. I tried brainstorming and thinking of ideas for a name to no avail. Nothing seemed to be coming... that is until one day I was sitting at my laptop. Suddenly a tiny spider repels down from my hair and into my field of vision. I found it kind of humorous and decided to post about it on my Facebook. Quite a few people liked and commented on the status and I was like, "Hey! A repelling spider! That would be a good username for my YouTube!" And so there you have it.
Find something of meaning and something that is memorable to you. A lot of the time a good idea will come to you when you are not looking, like what happened to me.
When I was younger, my favorite name was Roger. I was crazy about it. Roger this, Roger that. My second favorite name was Alan, so I made rogeralans. It always was mainly a lowercase "r". So now, I mostly use rogeralans, Rogex, or TheRogex13(13 being my favorite number). That's my story, maybe it helps.
My current username actually uses my name. It is: 'emayesoen'. em= m ay = a es=s o =o en = n. It spelt M-A-S-O-N.
Ahhh, I see. I always tried to pronounce it "ee-may-ee-so-en".
And yes, I would change my username if it were possible. "StudioL30" has got to be the worst studio name under the sun. I'm not even sure how I came up with it.

Just one quick question for you all to think about:
If you could decide on one feature to be put into YouTube, what would it be?

Yes, when I made my YouTube account (LegoAndStickfigs), I still made stick figure animations with a program called Stykz. I stopped making them shortly after I made my account. At that point, of course, I was so early in that I could have easily closed my account and made a new with a more fitting name but I didn't.
Also, I know, LASF stands for LegoAndStickfigs. If I don't like the name LegoAndStickfigs, why use LASF as my BiM username? Well, my answer is that LASF isn't really an abbreviation of LegoAndStickfigs to me anymore, it is more of a straight out name now. Sorry if I am being confusing. ![]()
Welp, that's my story.
Thought I'd post this to let everyone know of a new feature added to YouTube. I think it may just be for "partners", but if you go to your account's settings and then look under the "Channel Settings" section and click "defaults". You can now enter in tags, titles, descriptions and other things that you want to be the default for new video uploads. If you have something you put in most of your video's descriptions (say your facebook link or twitter), you can enter it here and it will automatically insert it when you begin uploading a new video. Same goes for keywords you use often.
Well I have the "defaults" and I'm certainly not a partner...
Eh. I wish I could change my YouTube username. cooldynamyteproducti is just n00bish and hard to remember. Many people from my class wanted to know my username and when I told them, they always forgot it. Even when I wrote it on a piece of paper, they still couldn't find it. If I could change my username, I would change it to LimeBrick.
I think that if you have below 100 subs and few views, you should just make another channel with a username you are happy with. I could have done it, but I have 95 000 views (I am surprised too
) so I wont do it. LimeBrick sounds pretty cool.
My username is a bit long, and I would change it to something shorter and easier to remember for other people. "furybrosstudios" was made out of "Fury"- is our middle name spelled a bit differently to give it a meaning in english. "Bros" for "brothers" and "studios". We chose it because we just started putting videos on youtube, and we liked it
I have been thinking of making a new one with better quality videos, the old ones are kind of bad quality, but I dont think I will. To me "FBS" sounds kinda catchy! ![]()
Sorry if I was a bit out of topic, but I just wanted to write my opinion on it. ![]()

I'm going to change to a new channel. I don't really have much views, and Bounce is my only real film on it. I'll re upload that to my new channel.
Thats one of the things I don't get. Why change channels? Whats the point, if lots of people didn't watch the vids on your old channel, then why would they watch them on your new one? Plus, you said you don't have much views... but you are going to have even less on your new channel. I'm just wondering, not criticizing you, I just don't know why
I could understand it somewhat. Hard to remember and uninteresting usernames/brands would be a good reason to swap, only if you didn't have a fan base to begin with and were looking at starting a fresh. Even then, I think it would only be worth it if you were serious about producing and releasing content, and it wasn't just going to be a channel where you upload videos every now and then without much of a purpose. I guess it's all about what you are wanting to use the channel for.
