Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Thanks for the quick replies, and the high praise!
Anyway, yes it's missing the tie, but for a purist custom, I think it's pretty close. (It's Meriadoc Brandybuck's torso if you're wondering.)

I tried a purple belt, and it looked horrible, and I wish that the hat was green, but there ain't much I can do about it. I will take Kcirbfilm's advice and try some more white/purple combos though.

EDIT: Several pictures (And one album) later....

Here are the highlights:

Sweet, but no purple.

Threw out the hat, added some purple, but looks kinda weird.

Nice balance, adds some gray to match the hat, and keeps the purple hands.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Nice! I think I like the first one the best; to me, with the gold vest, having purple and white highlights looks a bit odd. Obviously that's just my opinion, but if you don't mind it being a busy looking minifig, by all means go with the third. Having said that, you could change his body to Prof. Lupin from HP3, which would remove the gold and has a tie; or you could use the first pic, and give him a purple cane (Mace Windu lightsaber), which might look good. Either of those might require a bricklink purchase tho, and I'm not sure how much you like/dislike the other pics you posted. Looking good tho! mini/smile

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

I like the second one best.

I think ditching the hat is the way to go, what ever the case.
Also, leave out the weird red crowbar. I really don't get why LEGO made them all like that. mini/tongue

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Yes, definetly the second one.  It's got a nice balance of the colors.

EDIT: Second in the gallery, not here.  That's just to clear up any confusion.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

The second one looks most cohesive with the colors, but the hat really gives personality. The first is pretty balanced but somehow there's something off. The third sort of looks like colors thrown together with no thought in it.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Have you thought about just trying a whole set of white pants?

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

I personally like the very first one best.

Also, on his back, there is a sun which is the same as the one on the front.

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

After receiving a not-so-subtle hint, I'll give my critique on this.

Not sure if the bare arms, or colored arms look better, but the decal is matched much closer to the torso color this time around. (Although not quite perfect.) The hair color isn't the same as the eyebrows though, that should be fixed. Overall it looks pretty good to me, but what's with the yellow piece on the bottom of the torch? Also, the torch should probably be brown. mini/wink

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Thanks, my printer is terrible with colours, and yes, I chose a lighter colour by mistake. The yellow piece is well, erm, a backlight. I just threw it in for fun.

My God Its so good is this the justice League?

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

I didnt exactly know where to post this question, but I'll post it here.

I want to make the Andrew Garfield Spiderman, and I want a face a bit detailed so it looks cool with the Avengers minifigures (so I dont want a plain light flesh smile ..) I know what hair-pice I will use, I have the old spiderman figure, and all I need is the head.

1. I thought maybe something like this: http://www.bricklink.com/PL/3626bpb567.jpg (I like this best)
2. Or this: http://img.bricklink.com/P/90/3626cpb730.jpg (this is less detailed)
3. Or: http://www.bricklink.com/PL/3626bpb288.jpg (even though it is older, it might work)
4. Or even: http://www.bricklink.com/PL/3626bpb442.jpg
5. Maybe this: http://www.bricklink.com/PL/3626bpb408.jpg
The hairpiece is Sleepyhead's. I have seen the movie, and I want it to look as best as it can.
So I need your help to decide which one is the best!

Which one?
Thanks.

I like that one the best too. Thanks for your reply, Golden!

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

Here's my Bane minifig. The face is slightly dodgy, I know, but it works well enough. The decal was done by Flickr member Mr Nose Moustache.

Oh, and ghostofmrsday, Josh L has a really good Deathsroke body decal if you want it, but yours is alright.

So I'm trying to build a ninja, but I'm not sure which version to go with. Could I get some feedback?

Re: *The Official Minifigure Critique Thread*

The third one is the best, without heavy stuff he looks much more agile.
