Good taste. Metropolis, Dr. Strangelove and American Beauty are all great.
I'm seriously surprised and disappointed at how everyone is sorting their films into categories. It's the kind of sidelining that kept Wall-E from getting a Best Picture nod. And since when is CG different from animation?
American Beauty is without a doubt my favourite movie. Just below it are (in no particular order):
Children of Men
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Road to Perdition
Pan's Labyrinth
Black Hawk Down
Michael Clayton
Blood Diamond
The Bourne Trilogy
The Extended Editions of The Lord of the Rings
And because some people are mentioning shows as well:
Firefly
Veronica Mars
Band of Brothers
Numb3rs
Coupling
Life on Mars (Original)

Origional or Remake?
The original. I refuse to watch the remake.
