Topic: First Person Sniper Test

So here's my first fps test with a sniper. I know it's jiggly and has a poopy greenscreen, but I mainly tried to sync both clips, which seems like I did a decent job in. Feedback would be nice, thanks.

*Bump*
Guys I really need some feedback here, and this post has been up for long enough that I should've gotten at least 1 response. mini/sad

Re: First Person Sniper Test

Not really much to give feedback on. The syncing was alright, need to add more to the end so you can actually see the last kill. You already said it was a jiggly poop. mini/lol   It was good. Next time make sure you have longer pauses between the shots, snipers can't shoot that fast. mini/tongue
What else do you want feedback on?

Re: First Person Sniper Test

OK, first, the recoil should send the gun back (Towards the camera) and then up, not twist left and up.
Next, the whole thing was pretty jumpy and choppy, and like you said, the green-screen needed to be cleaned up. A higher frame-rate, smoother animation, and a little Photoshop will fix those.
Another thing is that the sound didn't seem like it was synced up right, it sounded a little too late.

With guns and explosions, and really most any sudden sounds, you want to start the sound a teeny-tiny bit BEFORE the action that releases it. That gives the brain time to process the sound and link it to what the eyes are seeing. And thanks to generally lower frame-rates among brickfilmers, (Meaning, most don't use 24fps like real movies.) you want the sound to begin around the frame before, or ideally the halfway point between the starting frame, and the previous one to make it seem like the sound is released the instant the gun (in this case) begins to fire.

So yeah, that's about it, can't say much more for a two-second test. mini/wink

Re: First Person Sniper Test

Thanks for the feedback. The whole sniper thing was actually more of a Call of Duty like sniper test, meaning the pull out is really fast, but putting the sound a frame before sounds pretty good Pritchard.
