Well, the stock footage (Explosion) was not that great, but your test was not so bad 
I think it was bad. When the camera started moving the explosion effect moved along with it, it shouldn't interact with it's environment like that. It also needed some debris and some masking work. I think this explosion was very amateur'ish.
Really? I actually kind of liked the camera shake 
It's not the camera shake I'm saying is done wrong. The effect moved along with the camera movement, it's not supposed to do that. If the camera moves a little to the left the explosion unrealistically moves a little to the left as well, it shouldn't do that, that's what I'm saying.
