Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

I did it. I have now watched My Little Pony. Bridle Gossip was my first episode. It was actually really good and provided some laughs. mini/smile I'm watching the first episode to give myself a better idea of what all of these pony terms are.

Yay! mini/bigsmile

(That's an awesome GIF)

A few days ago I made a brony poster for fun, what do you guys think?

And a slightly different version.

Also, the new episode was delightful! I like that they had Doughnut Joe again, and the epic cinematic imaginations of Pinkie Pie were so cool.

Must... be... open... minded...

agrrrgarggrrrgarggrrrrgrrgrrrrgrrGRRGARGGRRGARGRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

...

Okay, sorry about that.

So, I'm trying to convince myself to be open-minded about this.  In the past, I've been kinda... avoidant of this stuff.
But now, I realize I should at least try.  Not dealing with something is no way to go.  I need to be more open-minded about some things.
In the back of my mind, there lies the fact that all who have tried it have liked it.
In case I do try it and end up liking it, I have to not let anyone but you guys know that I do.  Some people are... you know... touchy about social conformity.  And you'll never know who those people might be.  This is different than still having Lego.

Well... uh... Can someone link an episode for me to try?

(Sorry if you don't fully understand what I'm saying.  It's just that... when my mind has two opposing sides on something, it's hard for me to express myself clearly.  Also, I had a mind-debate on if I should post this or not.)

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

Oh, don't worry, we understand what you're saying (or well...at least I do).
Well, hazzat said in a previous post that one of the best episodes to get started with would be Bridle Gossip because: "It's hilarious, and because it's towards the start of the series it doesn't matter if you don't really know the characters..." and "...if they continue watching they'll discover that that was just an average episode, and the show gets even better from there".
So, there you go, I hope you enjoy it. And even if you don't, at least you tried, and that's good too.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

I just started watching and I am now a fan. I started with Bridle Gossip from season 1, per Hazzat's suggestion. It was very good! mini/smile

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

Well, minifig, you could try to be a secret Brony... though, someone may find out eventually...

Most of my friends I know not from the internet dislike MLP, that's because they have a very annoying misconception about the show that they've developed from mainstream society's belief that pink stuff, ponies, and lessons of friendship are girly and childish, and that anyone not a girl or child should be shunned for liking it.

When I heard of it, I thought it was strange, and I wondered if it was a joke, but I stayed open-minded about it and tried it. The first episode I saw, Sonic Rainboom, was delightful, so a watched more.

Also, if you want to be a secret about it, but still want to find out if someone's a brony, just sneak in a simple MLP reference in to conversation. It'll go over any normal people's heads, but bronies will notice.

I just wrote "Pinkie Pie is best PONY," on one of the chalkboards here in my church that never gets erased, in a room where people walk through every day.

And now we wait...

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

After watching Bridle Gossip again, I'm not so convinced... If the person you're trying to convince is particularly sceptical choose The Last Roundup, but if they're open-minded go for Bridle Gossip.

minifig, there's no point trying to resist. All shall be assimilated into the herd.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

Really cool pony video I found on YouTube. I've watched it about half a dozen times now, and the guy made five other similar videos for the rest of the Mane 6.

Also, I finally have a pony profile picture (Scootaloo is best pony).

I want to do that now.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

Might want to do this if you haven't already.

Not an official brony, so don't take it that way. Saw this on another forum thread, thought it'd be fun to do it.

Twilight Sparkle. Why am I not surprised? Also, I assumed you wanted the picture to link to the quiz, which is wasn't, so I fixed that for you.

If I do become one, all I'll do is not mention it to anyone I know off of the internet.  The way I see it, anyone who's not a brony wouldn't fully understand, so what's the point in trying?  Case in point: me.  I sorta get it, but not 100%.

Actually, I know that two people at my school are bronies, even though I've never talked to them.  I found out just by looking and listening.  There's one guy at the lunch table next to mine that mentioned it to his friends.  Then, there's this other guy who is always standing near my History classroom before the period starts (waiting for someone whose locker is near the room), wears pony shirts sometimes, and is named Chris.

I'm beginning to think I will, because it must be a good show if everyone who tried it has liked it.

I haven't tried it yet, I need the right circumstances.  I need three things: 1. Time 2. Being alone 3. BiM being up.  That last one, as you know, has been hard to get lately.  Maybe I'll just copy the link so I can try it if BiM isn't up.

I took that personality test that 1011ev posted. I'm most like Fluttershy. Heck yeah. mini/sunnies

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Appreciation Thread

@Littlebrick Um, it didn't matter too much to me, due to the web address in the picture.

@Chris W.  Glad you like it. Who did you put as the best pet? I put Scootaloo. xD

Yay

I'm Applejack too.  Woohoo!

Most of my kids love the show, and even the one son who isn't a brony, watches it.  He just thinks the extreme enthusiasm/passion about the show is odd.  I am still trying to make Mr. Brick7 into a brony. mini/bigsmile
