Hello, Dolly!
One of my favorite movies of all! It always makes me feel cheerful and fuzzy inside. mini/cat
And it has one of the best songs ever.
(Which was also played in Wall-E)

This was actually pretty funny and entertaining. Didn't really expect that. Always great to see Justin Long, he reminds me of Jeepers Creepers one of my most favorite horror films mini/bigsmile

Life is Beautiful (1997) 8/10

Okay.  This film is great and really touching.  However people are always going to rage on and on about how it doesn't fit history accurately.  Oh well.  Still makes a great film.

The Artist (2012) 11/10

Yes!  Yes!  This is a great film.  Best this year.  In a time when 3D films are ruining the theater experience, this film is a real kick in the side of those.  You just need a great story to create a successful film.

Clash of the Titans (The New One) 6/10

Ghostbusters (1984)

Quite enjoyable. The special effects and masking were terrible, though. This film brings back the memories of when I was in New York...when I was two years old. mini/tongue

8.2/10

The Lorax (2012)

Some funny moments, but it serves a good lesson. The animation, graphics, and script were awesome. The only thing that bothered me were the squeaky-voiced animals. Illumination Entertainment can get away with that only once (in Despicable Me).

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
This was pretty surreal. And VERY funny. Why had I never seen this before?

The 7 Faces of Dr. Lao
This was a very quirky and strange film but I actually really liked it. It was funny yet sentimental and completely not cliched whatsoever. It offered some interesting contrasts between the mundanities of that town where it takes place and the insane chinese guy's circus. Very good, I highly reccomend.

The 3 lives of Thomasina
D'aww, I love me some cheesy animal movies.
Lol, no. I've had enough of those "Air Bud" and whatnot films. But this was actually pretty good. The scenery was very nice and the people's accents were cool (because it takes place in Scotland and I'm kind of going through a phase where I'm obsessed with Scottish stuff, idk...) But all I have to say is that the ending was extremely haphazard and unbelievable. It was like the guy was like

Spoiler (click to read)

I found the cat, now I'm gonna suddenly get married to this witch that I met like yesterday.

EDIT: Also in this film I really liked the sequence of

when the cat died.

It was really trippy and surreal, and not something you would expect from a Disney film.

Superbad

It's been 4 years since watching it the first time, this time I had even more fun mini/bigsmile a really good entertaining movie, kind of reminds me of myself a few years ago. Definitely worth watching. McLovin ha ha ha mini/lol

The Lorax

God what a horrible, terrible movie.

Every single damn thing in this movie had some sort of flaw. EVERY SINGLE DAMN THING YOU GUYS, EVEN THE ANIMATION WAS OUT OF SYNC AND AWKWARD AT PARTS. There was this one part where one of the characters was saying one thing on screen (you can even see her say the words), and the actual voice was saying something else. Also the movie was riddled with cliches and stupidity.

Even the touching ending was completely ruined and smashed into pieces because it cut to giant silver text "THE END" with these effing annoying fish BREAKDANCING TO A JUSTIN BIEBER SONG

MY GOD SOMEONE DESTROY THIS MOVIE

Wow some strong words there. Shouldn't we keep the language out of these forums as there is a younger audience? I just saw the Lorax this evening myself and for a family friendly movie it was decent. Nothing I'd want to see again though really. The Lorax is my favorite Dr. Seuss book of all time so of course the movie couldn't live up to the book. My biggest complaints were the fact that you actually saw the Onceler and then the plain fact that it didn't feel like Dr. Seuss. Oh and Zac Efron's guitar solos bugged me and were slightly embarrassing. On the plus, the fish singing the Mission Impossible theme a capella style was quite epic.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

All the parts with the fish were completely awful and annoying. They were trying to hard to make a "cute and funny" character and it just came off extremely annoying. Also it felt like Illumination was trying to make them kind of a rehash of their (also incredibly annoying characters) "minions" from Despicable Me.

The only part I even remotely enjoyed was the song montage of The Onceler becoming successful.

And yes I absolutely loved the book, which is one of the reasons I'm so pissed off.

Haha yeah I noticed how the fish were like the minions... and I haven't even seen Despicable. The old cartoon Lorax was much better IMO. I've come to accept the fact that no movie adaption of a book will be very good. Or most of them at least. mini/lol Eragon was a disgrace but I don't even like the books series much anymore, I did when I was younger.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Lorax was okay for the most part, I guess. One thing I didn't expect to see out of the film was that it would be a musical! That was stupid.

Just Kidden wrote:

Yes, JK, you're right. The ending was too cliche. In my opinion, the ending shoulda gone like this: O'Hare tries to stop Ted. Ted tries to run but smacks into a wall. He falls to the ground and is burned at the stake. O'Hare becomes king of  the Czech Republic, the Lorax doesn't stop carrying his own butt, as he sort of did in the movie, and the Once-ler dies because he chokes on his own beard. THE END!

But, seriously folks. I wasn't that impressed with the film, to tell you the truth.

I already could have guessed the film would be like that, so I didn't even bother seeing it. THe voice actors they hired were purely chosen to appeal to the masses. And also the fact that they exploited the character for an SUV advert.
Do not trust. Although I feel like I may be forced to see it by my sister mini/sad

Pretty good, actually. The CGI wasn't the greatest, but I still really like it.

That's true, but some of the best movies ever made are based of book's, like lord of the rings and the Nolen Batman trilogy.

John Carpenter is amazing.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Batman Begins (2005)

Whoa, this is one amazing film. I swear, I was blown away. Yes, this is actually the very first time I saw it, so as you can see, I'm trying "to keep up with the Joneses".

First off, I can see how Christopher Nolan picked most of his cast members for Inception (Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, and Michael Caine were in both this film and Inception. Tom Hardy is also from Inception and will play Bane in The Dark Knight Rises). All actors gave it their all and did it. They gave an astounding performance, even though I think Linus William Roache (who played Bruce Wayne's dad) was the best cast member.

Second off, the plot is brilliant. It seems that Nolan and David Goyer (the film's co-writer) didn't overlook a single detail, as this film's storyline really is quite riveting.

Third off, out of all the greatness of this film, I think the movie crew took it a little too far with the visual effects. I mean, it's nice to see a monorail explode here and there, but this is just sad. The VFX are just a little, eh...overused. But, hey, this is the 21st century; don't tell me that you can't think of one film out there that didn't get their effects overused (examples: John Carter, 2012).

All in all, this film was incredible. I can't wait to see the next Dark Knight films.

Act of Valor (2012)

I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting for some sort of plot to occur.  But of course it never did.  The gun shooting, drug dealing and head shots never. Ever. Stopped.  And the critics that say that this was emotional.  Honestly, I can't find anything.  Anything.  Personal in this.  The most personal it get's is two minutes in the middle of the movie when he's about to leave AGAIN.  However I did like that this film shows, truly what goes on during a war.  However!  They could make it more personal, WHICH is a huge part of working in a team, in war.  I barely got to know the characters.. I forgot who was the main character, I just go sooooo lost that my brain was loose.  Not in that way that has is jiggle so much but in a way that makes you stop and think, WTF just happened.  Did I pass out for half of that movie?  I'm sorry.  I didn't want to get to offensive especially when talking about a movie that has to do with a real life war.  But for films they need to have some thing more personal.  Something that will make you cry because it's so sad.  I didn't get that.  Well I usually don't but you need something that could.
