LEGO Legend of Zelda: "The Minish Crap"

Anybody remember The Minish Cap? For Gameboy Advance? No? Is it just me? It is? Okay. Well that's the title pun, everyone. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING.

I haven't animated anything in over 3 months. I am sorry about that, but I have been working on my magnum opus: Ghost Cat: Port of Call New Orleans

Not bad! Your Link figure is pretty good. I did notice quite a bit of light flicker. Also, if it weren't for the title, I wouldn't have known it had anything to do with the Minish Cap. Its a great game, one of my favorite hand-held Zelda games. It might have been better if the video had some references to the game itself. mini/smile

Nice and smooth, maybe hardly light flicking but I think it's pretty good and funny.

Re: LEGO Legend of Zelda: "The Minish Crap"

Repelling Spider— I know. I did the same thing with skyward sword as you already saw. None of the episodes in the series have anything to do with their titles. They're just puns. And if you have any suggestions as to how to get rid of light flicker, that would be great.

I currently use one halogen lamp, without any diffusion.

My camera is a JVC HD Everio camcorder, and I use another crappy webcam as a guide camera which is connected to my laptop.

I only wear black clothes while animating.

Also, I have these black out "blinds" but they're just black curtains that I pull down over my actual blinds(which are also broken).

Because my house is really small, there is only one room that doesn't have any windows, and that's my bathroom, so I have to animate under a lopsided desk in my bedroom.

I keep the base plates and stuff on a slab of granite that was left over when we got our kitchen redone.

For masking and visual effects, I use a cheap-ish image editor called Pixelmator.

The next episode will have voiceovers, and is written by Lev Novak, from Dorkly.com(subsidiary of CollegeHumor.com). Leave a comment telling me HOW I can get better, because I want that to look more professional.

Re: LEGO Legend of Zelda: "The Minish Crap"

From your video its hard to tell exactly what is the cause of the flicker, but it looks to me like its movement of the lamp. (Especially in the scene where he jumps down.) For that, the only thing is just to make sure not to move the lamp even the slightest, but then again that might not be your problem. The only other thing I could think of would be your camera perhaps, but I'm not familiar with it so I couldn't help, sorry.

Does anybody have any comments on the masking? I would love to know what I'm doing right and/or wrong.
