Topic: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

Just a little film I did in my spare time. I thought I'd share it with the animation community. It's my first time doing a lego movie, but I had a friend help teach me how to do it. I'm not 100% sure if this is the correct place to post such short films, but hopefully it is. mini/sweat

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

Not bad, actually. The animation was pretty good, but there was a little light flicker. Also the cutting of fruits animation was a bit choppy. Keep it up!

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

Not bad. Very good animating and masking but bad light flicking. Try to fix it... mini/smile

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

I had trouble with light flicker, how is that fixed? Is there a special way to avoid it?

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

Just turn the settings auto to manual!

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

If you want to eliminate light flicker, you'll need to do several things:
1) Wear a dark, preferably black, shirt.
2) Eliminate all overhead and natural lighting.
3) Buy desktop lamps (such as a gooseneck).
4) Use all manual settings on your camera.

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

Despite the light flicker everything else was AWESOME! Loved it!

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

mini/bigsmile  Thanks! I'll work on that flicker, I used a manual focus web cam as a test, but I'm getting a nicer one tomorrow to work on another, longer video.

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

Nice. The animation was quite smooth. Aside from the light flicker, this was awesome!

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

It was pretty good for a beginner. The animation was realistic and the masking was done very nicely. Just try to work on the light flicker (as mentioned before) and on camera bumps. Camera bumps can be eliminated by not touching the camera when you're filming (In that case, you take pictures with a remote controlling the shutter, or you take pictures from your computer).

Practice makes perfect mini/wink . Also, not trying to be a grammar nazi or anything, but you should capitalize your words when appropriate.

Re: Fruit Ninja Test Flips

I actually didn't do masking, I just held his sword when he flipped, it's a technique that's quite simple. I watched A LOT of tutorials and did a sword trick test before this, but for the most part, I havn't really done much animation. I had a friend show me how to do easing in and easing out though.
