Cowboys and Aliens
It was pretty good, but slightly lacking in the story department.

I remember that, while I was watching that movie, at one point I had to check at what time it was, just to know exactly at what point the movie goes downhill (for me). It was 1:14, I think.

Spoiler (click to read)

When the girl "resurrects", exactly. Darn it, they were doing so good until then. WHY? Can't she stay dead? Why did she had to be an alien? Just some things in movies that bothers me, just why can't one of the main characters die? Well, she dies at the end again, but can't she stay dead the first time? Also, the way the story would develope would have been much more interesting. No, the alien with the cliché backstory had to be in there. And plus, the fight scenes were way too predictable (I'm talking about the boy about to be killed, the indian sort of harrison ford's son about to die, and that stuff) .

Anyway, the start was pretty good, I could even say I greatly enjoyed it until I reached that point. Sooo...it barely reaches 3/5 for me.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

I gotta agree with MPfist0. It's was ok until then, but after that happened I was like "Oh come on!" it was too cliche.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Wow, that was one of the most exciting movies I've seen in recent memory, loved it. Great story, loved the ending]. Plus Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law have great chemistry and work incredibly well as Holmes/Watson. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time, it was great. Much better than the first one, in my opinion.

EDIT:
Mad Dog Morgan
Great film, probably one of the best Australian films I've ever seen (though that's not really saying a lot, considering the Australian film industry). While it still would have been good without Dennis Hopper, he really made the film what it is. He was brilliant in this.

Check out 'Roadgames'. It's awesome.

Shame
This is the year of Michael Fassbender. He truly prooves here what an outstanding actor he his. And this also a very thought provocing film. See it.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
The Feel Bad Movie Of Christmas. It's obviously over now, but still a damn good thriller deliverd ones again by David Fincher. I apologieze to the Swedish people, but this is the better version. This movie isn't affraid to look away from it's grittiness, hell, it pushes your face in it. And Fincher's direction is way more suspensfull. And the interraction between Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara is just fun to see. The great thing is that you can't call it a remake. Because both versions arn't so similair, it feels like an enteir differant movie almost.
Fincher is a master

We Bought a Zoo
YEs! We just randomly decided to go see this, and it was one of the best movies I had ever seen! Everybody who hasn't seen it, get off your computer and go to the nearest movie theater RIGHT NOW and watch it. It is a true work of art. The plotline is so absurd yet so serious yet so lighthearted at the same time, and the film is so cinematographiclly perfect that if you were to take a random shot from the film, print it out, frame it, and hang it on a wall it would still look epic. (except of course for the creepy close-ups of people's heads)
Well, anyway, tis a beautiful movie. I recently discovered the band Sigur Ros, and I decided to go see this because the main singer composed the score to this. The music is beautiful too, and.. just go watch it please, I'm tired of ranting.

The Peach Orchard (kurosawa)
I saw this in my language arts class. It was interesting. Very good cinematography. T'was kind of creepy though.

SAW

Yes I admit it... I have seen Saw 2 a few times and Saw 3 once but never ever I rented out any of the other Saw movies. So, about the movie, the casting in my opinion was done very well, I felt like all the actors were chosen perfectly for their roles except maybe for the Doctor Lawrence. Overall I enjoyed the movie but I couldn't really call it a horror movie, it's more a thriller to me I don't know why people around me keep saying "Saw" is a horror movie... It's a pretty decent film and no wonder the SAW franchise was continued with another 6 sequels mini/eek  (yeah 6 is too much just make a tv show already mini/bigsmile)

Johnny English (original)
So, I was seeing this for the first time, although I had already seen "Reborn" and loved it. Of course if Rowan Atkinson is in it it's automatically awesome, but this film would be awesome anyway. Compared to the newer version, I felt this had a better plotline, but the newer version had better staged antics and jokes. Loved it.

Haha, I've already listened to that about twenty times today, so good. I was just talking to someone about it, actually.
Might have to go see it again sometime soon.

COMMANDO

Arnold at his best, it has some of the best action film lines ever written. Right?

"Wrong!" mini/bigsmile

-Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last?
-That's right, Matrix! You did!
-I lied.

Epic stuff! 9/10

SAW II

The last decent SAW film in the franchise.

The Smurfs
Meh, it was ok. I hated that the only adjective they used was "Smurf" or "Smurfy" or something else of the kind. The animating of the Smufts was actually pretty good.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Adventures of Tintin

That was fantastic. The animation is lovely. The whole mashed up story from the comic books was pretty great. But I thought that some of the action scenes were a bit exaggerated - like for example the scene with the cranes. I thought that it was a bit too actionish. But aside from that, the film was brilliant. The actors sure did a great job and it deserved that Golden Globe.

I'll assume you haven't watched the original "Smurfs" TV shows. mini/tongue

Beauty & the Beast (3D)
I really, really love this movie. Seriously. I've seen it dozens of times, and it's still great. mini/smile

I thought the 3D was okay, I guess, but it didn't really add much to it, however, there were a few shots that looked really really amazing. It hurts my head thinking about how hard it must be to do all of that stuff.
mini/dizzy
Though it was nice to see it in theaters again with friends. mini/cat

Only thing that really annoys me is that they left out Human Again. mini/tongue I love that song. (wasn't in the original though)

The Magic Trip
A fun documentary which in retrospect is very full of itself but if you're interested in hippyness of the sixties and drugs, give it a watch I guess.

The Battle of Algiers
A realistic film about guerilla warfare. I like the way all the characters are represented. You aren't forced into any feelings about them, no dramatic music/lighting. The film doesn't take sides but lets you.
