Topic: Sword fight test 2

This is a second sword fighting test I made, animated @15 FPS. What do you think, what can I improve?

Re: Sword fight test 2

Good job! I've tried animating a sword fight several times and never completed it. Yours is pretty good, but I'd suggest adding in some different sword swings and movements to stylize it a bit more so that it will hold one's attention better. Nice job though!

Okay, thank you!

This was much better! Like RS said the movements got a bit repetitive. Also, have you seen FancyPants' video on easing in and out?
For the gun shot it needed a bit more recoil.

Thank you! I've seen the tutorial and tried to apply it in this test, but it needs more improvement.

It's nicely done, I like it. I must say that you are very potential guy. You're beginner, but potential beginner. I raise my hat!

Thank you Lord Lajaka!

Re: Sword fight test 2

I like the camera panning. Do you use a tripod?

Anyway, don't bother with tests anymore. Your animation is good enough, give us a short with a story. mini/smile

Yes, I use a tripod. And I'll see if I can make a story in the future.

What camera do you use? Quality looks great!

I use a Nikon D3100, like you!

Re: Sword fight test 2

Oh! Nice! Where did you get some idea to buy it?

Well, I was looking for my first DSLR and doubted between the Nikon D3100 and the Canon 1100D. I've chosen the D3100 because it has some better specifications, like full HD movie and editing your photo's in the camera. And the difference in picture quality between those cameras is not very big. And I found a shop were it was very cheap!
The only thing I don't like at all about this camera is that it is not compatible with stopmotion programs, what the 1100D is.

Great test! Just make sure when you're making a real deal action sequence to change camera angles and maybe add some camera movements in the post-production (well that is just up to you to decide).

Okay, thank you for the tips!

Hey, I tested the program that you have said in our PM messages and it was pretty good and cheap. It looks nice but it doesn't have some thing that I want, 'cause I have Action Essentials 2 effects and I can't import MOV. files and AVI. files can't work with Chorma Key and Action Essentials 2 effects are keyed, but it doesn't work in that software.

So, I think I'll buy Adobe Premiere Elements 10 for that reason. Then I can import MOV. files and take them to timeline without stupid chorma key, 'cause they're already keyed.
