Topic: Something Other than Windows Movie Maker

Dose anyone know if the Windows Movie Maker for Windows 7 is better than the one for XP. If it is not is there better one for free I could get. I have already spent quite a lot on camera and software and don't want to spend more than I have to.

It is better, as it can go up to 33 frames per second.

Good because I just got a new Windows 7 and have not used the WWM yet but it looked different and I was not sure if the first was easier to use. It looks a little tricky to understand compared to the first. But do you know if there is a better one out there or I should stay with WWM.

I actually have that its not really the same as WWM. It more for converting from videos to pictures vice versa, compression, frame rate simple stuff like that. I mean something that can edit video and sound to the final product. I heard someone talk about Lightworks. Know anything about that? mini/confused

It's a free open source editor.

It has a steep learning curve but there is some official documentation (Here). I'm sure you can find lots more unofficial stuff using your google-fu.

WMM is an editor the frame rate it can achieve isn't really applicable. This job is done by stop motion software.
For precaptured frames try: Virtualdub

Good for capture:  Monkeyjam

If you feel a bit like being naughty, you could pirate Sony Vegas (Even though you shouldn't), though you can also get Sony Vegas 9 for as low as 60USD at places, look on Amazon.com.

We don't condone piracy here GGSS.

If you're looking for a good free editing program, go check out Lightworks

I went on Amazon and got Sony Vegas Platinum 11 Production Suite for $60 USD (As in, the newest version)

However if you want Sony Vegas Pro, be ready to cough up at least $200
