Re: Festival of Souls 2: The Room of Murders

I see you're imroving a lot, LASF. The animation still wasn't as smooth. It was pretty good at the beggining, but I think you could've just try harder at the end, where the killer stabs him. And it was happening a bit too fast. But otherwise, you're really improving. You just need to work harder. Oh, and I suggest playing a bit with the light settings on your camera.

3/5

Re: Festival of Souls 2: The Room of Murders

Wow, you're improving a lot. I have to agree with most of what Tobias says in the post above: you managed to build a good atmosphere, although some shots were too fast, but at the end I think you made a bad choice of music and sound. If it looked scary, the last two "soundtracks choices" made it sound a bit like a comedy. And I think that the fact of not putting any music at all right at the end of the video didn't help. It almost completely killed the whole atmosphere and suspance you build up before. Still, many of the angles were interesting, and the animation, although not completely fitting in some parts, was good enough to not have many still or repeated frames (I spotted one or two, I think), those usually bother me. Also, lighting was good, but you could have studied for a more interesting light. But well, it is fine that way.
Anyway, I think you could have made up a more interesting story

Spoiler (click to read)

Like telling how did he get there, or you could have made the set look more like a labyrinth, or something, to make it look a more believable place, and there you could have added some parts to help increasing the suspance. Also, I have to agree with that youtuber who says "00:42 to 00:50 doesn't make much sense". It's true, it's like if you wanted to go deeper in the story but didn't manage to shot that part, and just left that montage there.

Anyway, better than many of the other entries I have seen. 3/5
Btw, Darth Vincent Price has a wonderful voice.

Oh, CDP, I don't think that just pointing out lightflickers and camera bumps help that much. I mean, he probably already noticed them. And you don't have to use emoticons when you point that out, it gets annoying after a while.

Re: Festival of Souls 2: The Room of Murders

yup, you're getting better!:D

Yes, I quite regret putting those in now, it does make it seem quite comedic.

You mean

when the guy gets killed by the killer?

Yeah, I bet some music there, it would keep the atmosphere alive.

Still, many of the angles were interesting,

Thank you. mini/smile

Well, you spotted correctly. I repeated two frame because I was panicking I wouldn't get it in on time which I probably shouldn't have. I be sure not to do that next time.

Also, lighting was good, but you could have studied for a more interesting light. But well, it is fine that way.

That YouTuber would be Mr.Rundown101 though I completely agree, I'm not sure what I was animating there. I was honestly thinking at that moment that I can just put something random in, some scary music, and it's horror. Well, I was pretty mistaken there.

Anyway, better than many of the other entries I have seen. 3/5

That's really good to hear! mini/delirium

Yes, DVP is a great voice actor.

Re: Festival of Souls 2: The Room of Murders

I don't know if it's just me, but this seemed very similar to  alexsnowskate's "Middle of nowhere" which is also an entry to FOS2.

The film itself was all right. the light flicker was a bit bothersome, and the music wasn't too original, but it wasn't horrible.

I just watched it. Yeah, I can see the relationship though I started making this before he published Middle of Nowhere.

The light flicker has already been noted, too.

Re: Festival of Souls 2: The Room of Murders

So anything else anybody wants to say before this falls into the depths of the release forum?

Re: Festival of Souls 2: The Room of Murders

I'd just have to echo everything that's been said, including: great job, you're improving in leaps and bounds!

I don't make Brickfilms. I trade virtual hats.
