Sorry for the low quality. That's the benefits of trying to get .AVI files into iMovie.

Anyways, here's my FOS 2 entry, "The Dollhouse." The opening theme was composed by myself. Filming took place from 9pm to 2am from Sunday to Monday morning. Editing took place yesterday for an hour while I was busy preparing to go to a Halloween party.
The film revolves around a dancer who begins to experience odd things at a late night practice. It was inspired by Suspiria, Black Swan, and The Stepford Wives.

I hope you all enjoy! mini/smile

Re: The Dollhouse

That was.. freaky..

It was a little hard to see the mini figures, and as you said the quality was a bit compromised, but nonetheless, pretty freaky.

Good job.

Re: The Dollhouse

Hmm... it looks like oil painting in the pictures...

Like Paint.NET effect oil painting... all the pictures... mini/confused

Re: The Dollhouse

Not sure what you mean Lord Lajaka. And yeah LegoLandChronicles, the quality made it hard to see the figures, but I will be replacing the link in the original post later with the clear quality version I made today with the original .avi files.

Re: The Dollhouse

I think what Lajaka means is the video looks like it has a filter from Paint.net used on the video to make it look like an oil paint effect.

And I'll check back for the clearer version mini/smile

Re: The Dollhouse

Well I have a fascinating review of the film by my dad.

"That was pathetic, it was really dark. Why can't you make a film with lots of machine guns and guys fighting? Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA6S2kd_7q4 That is bright, and is 6 and a half minutes long. Look, it has action!"

Re: The Dollhouse

No offense, but your dad is an idiot.

I loved it, good work.

Re: The Dollhouse

I'll be honest - Your film was a lot better than the link you gave us. That one's frame rate is really slow, the lighting is off, and it looks bad.

I think you should make whatever kinds of brick films you want. The only problem I had with this one was the quality was a bit off. Otherwise it was good.

Your dad is apparently an idiot when it comes to artistic horror (not to judge or anything). This was an amazing film. Yes it had it's flaws, but it was still one of your best shorter films. You present perfect atmosphere, and even though it feels a little rushed at parts, all the good elements make up for it. Show your dad who's boss with the full version of Red River Flows (hint hint).

Re: The Dollhouse

You know how to create atmosphere pretty well (though the darkness combined with the poor quality makes it nearly unwatchable - are you still uploading a better version?), but it's wasted without a compelling narrative. As always, though, there's a lot of potential here.

Re: The Dollhouse

I'm not uploading a better version since it'd be wayy too complicated and would involve refilming some scenes. I've tried multiple programs to correct the poor quality that happens when you export it from iMovie but it won't work. I guess people will have to be satisfied with what there is, it's easier to watch in 720p HD rather than 360p.

Re: The Dollhouse

I really enjoyed it, it definitely had that Darren Aronofsky feel to it, shame about the quality though. I'd love to see you make a longer film using the same style but perhaps with some dialogue to make the narrative clear, other than that 4/5
