Re: The CGI Thread

Why doesn't the camera in Blender see past a certain point? Is there a way to fix it? mini/confused

Re: The CGI Thread

if that's happening, then your scene is way too big.  to fix it, get out of camera and hit A twice to deselect then select everything.  (if there's nothing selected, just hit A once.)  then hit S and scale everything down a bit.

Question:
Is Autodesk Matchmover a standalone application, or is it a Maya plugin?

Stan has a good point, but you can also adjust your render distance; I don't remember quite exactly where that option is though, but I imagine it would be under either the Render or World tab.

Re: The CGI Thread

Okay, I'll see if I can find it.

Everything's the default size, just to let you know.

Re: The CGI Thread

Select your camera and go to the editing tab (F9) and all that info should be there for you to edit. I think it is under "start" and "end". Assuming 2.59 is the same as 2.49. mini/smile

I think in 2.59 there is also an option under the 'camera options' where you can adjust the end distance (you can also adjust the start distance). I don't know if this is the same in 2.49, though.

Re: The CGI Thread

If I'm not mistaken, that is a release candidate. Not an Alpha build. If that is an Alpha build then I think you might as well put a stake right through the blender foundation now and pack up shop. No one would be crazy enough to go back to Alpha this quick after the disaster that was 2.5.

Re: The CGI Thread

Okay, my computer caught a virus and needed to reset everything to the default settings. I downloaded Blender again, and whenever I try to open it, it says:

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application."

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Re: The CGI Thread

How do I export something in Blender with the armature attached so that if I import it to a different .blend file I don't have to make a new armature?

Re: The CGI Thread

It should just do it if you save (CTRL+S) normally.

But then how would I import it into another .blend file?

Link or append I believe. But I'm not positive.

Did you use Ambient Occlusion?

Re: The CGI Thread

Well, The new Blender layout is a heck of a lot easier to use and I'm actually enjoying myself a bit.

Can someone tell me how to change the export image resolution, because I wanted to edit this in Photoshop into a desktop.

No, because that takes a REALLY REALLY REALLY long time to render, at least last time I tried it.

EDIT: Okay, here it is from the left side with Ambient Occlusion:
