20,000 Legos Under The Sea
My gosh this was a fun film to make, it's a remake of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, a film by Richard Fleishcer and a book by Jules Verne, if you haven't seen the movie then you've got to see it, I believe it it the film of the 20th century. ZP helped me a lot with effects which was extremely kind of him. I hope I do well in the contest!

I'd have to say all the effects were superb, so was the animation. The only thing that was a little questionable was the lighting (which I though was very good but a little dark at times). The scene that you picked was almost an exact copy to the movie.

Thanks Anteater! The effects were done by ZP so credit him. I agree lighting is still won of my weak points, and I'm also happy to hear that you've seen the film!
I remember watching this film years ago with my dad. Watching this really made me remember how brilliant that film was, the golden age of Disney's films if you ask me (before they started making High School Musicals).
You did an excellent job of capturing that scene. Really well done! The animation wasn't spectacular, and the squid didn't look quite as good in purple, but from what I remember the film to be like this was very similar. The rain effects were great, it actually looked like you were pouring a bit of water onto your set, as a pose to just adding a rain filter over it. ZP did a good job. The lighting was great too. I just love the way you recreated an old film (50s wasn't it?) and made it into lego! Good luck in the contest!
4/5! Perhaps you should do Swiss Family Robinsons next, thats another great old disney film! I want to rebuild my lego Nautilus I made now!

Thanks Filmfire! about 80% of the time I was animating on a single stud. Which is extremely frustrating. The squid wasn't purple unless YouTube screwed up the RBG. Thanks for commenting!
Cool film... Bro. I love how ZP did that mask effects with the lighting, made it look very professional.
I haven't seen the original film, but this was executed well. Did you put a sheet of glass in front of the camera to make the raindrops trickle down? ZP did a good job, but the opening shots were a little too dark; it was kind of hard to see the Nautilus.

I'm a big fan off the book, and I loved this scene, I was a little disappointing that most of the film wasn't actually stop-motion though. Also I'd turn down the rain effects, it makes it rather hard to see what's going on. But it did add a nice effect of a confusing battle.
In what year was the Disney movie made?
I remember I watched one version, not sure if it was the same, but it was sooooo rushed and messed up that I couldn't stand watching it.
It won! Yay! It was a lot of fun, I may make a directors cut someday to solve some of the technical issues it had.

Great job overall. I've seen that water effect before. I'm almost 100% sure it's from Action Essentials 2 from Video Copilot? Anyway, it was really well done.
Keep making lego videos, because you're really good at them.
