It's cool, yes, but I personally enjoy really nice 15 FPS like Stranger than Fishin' compared to stuff like 24 FPS Egyptian Holiday.

With 15, it's simpler, not as complex, and so it allows you to focus on other cool stuff besides a ridiculous frame-rate.

I always thought Stranger than Fishin' was shot at 24fps but on twos (so 12fps basically). I may be wrong, but it goes to show that although it was shot at a slower framerate than most brickfilms it still looked good because the movements were just right. 24 isn't completely ridiculous, but as you said 15fps is probably better for this. I'm finding 20fps a good one to use at the moment, I plan to use 24fps for my big 'secret' (in other words I haven't got the proper idea yet!) film for school when I'm ready to move up to that.

$1200 on a film seems a little high to me. I honestly can't see what you would spend all that on. A camera, okay, maybe some fancy program but $1200 is quite a lot. I really hope this goes well for you, if it does I think this could go down in history as the Avatar of brickfilms (I mean the cost)! I am really excited to seeing this once it's done, looks impressive. Best of luck! mini/bigsmile

I'm pretty sure it was shot at 24 fps on twos and IIRC Mindgame dislikes its animation.

Re: Endless Knight

yea, I sort of do 24 in twos, and people, thats the first scene of PART 2 not of the movie, and yes, I just might do some more tests...
someone asked how I get all that money, well the expenses have increased over a while and the money is from work... I would do 15 but for some reason Premiere don't do 30fps...(or 15...)
Yea, I may get the old joker, I just think it'd be a pain to animate his face... I've still got to experiment with the face and all...

anyhow, scarecrow is looking good, scene 1's SF is almost done...

By the way, I think my video Sword Fight would be a slightly better example of animation, although some og the camera angles are a bit "off" this has since been improved

I know you are really happy with the new toy you've got: Hitfilm! But be very carefull that you don't swamp your film with effects. To me it seems like a real risk that this well be a showcase like: "Hey, look at all the nice things I can do with this software", resulting in overkill... on the other hand, there's probably an audience for that as well...

The animation looked pretty nice to me!

thanks, and as I stated, this short HAS no story, or script, where as, I've planed and been writing "Batman the Beginner" for longer then Lucas spent on Star wars Episode 2's Script... so it has a story, just this "TEST" I made didn't. but, yea, thanks.

Yeah, the CoD (City of Darkness, not Call of Duty) second draft is taking AGES to complete, and usually the only time I have to work on it is in the morning... and my head just doesn't work well in the morning. But I guess it'll be all worth it when the movie's done, right?

yea, the longer U work on a script, the better it gets, like this one project I have in the pipe lines (Jack Brown: My Brothers a Spy) I've completely rewritten the script over 3 times...

Re: Endless Knight

Looking good so far! mini/bigsmile

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

Re: Endless Knight

ok...
another Script preview coming up:
this ones from the EP 2.

INT: BANK – NIGHT
the bank is empty, smoke surrounds the room

James Gordon walks in to the bank, alone, gun in hand.

Batman looks over the damage.

James Gordon sees batman. He turns to face him
                                      BATMAN
                        The Joker did this.

                                      JAMES GORDON
                        And you are?

                                       BATMAN
                        The Batman, Protector of Gotham.
The hero it Needs but not the one it
deserves. I am the Dark Knight

                                       JAMES GORDON
Ah ha, I’m just a cop, not a freak.

                                        BATMAN
Joker and his men are moving about town
tonight, counting on the fact that all the
                        cops are busy.

                                         JAMES GORDON
                        All bar me.
Batman turns to leave
                                         BATMAN
Ok, Hope you know how to file a report,
                        my writing’s shocking.

Batman starts moving out of the bank. Pointing at shattered glass:
                                          BATMAN
Think this is the point of entry?

Once again, upload smaller pictures so that they don't take three minutes to load. mini/tongue

I love that smiley face. xD

Re: Endless Knight

yea, it reflects batman.... my one anyway, cause, that is a Batbug.......

and sorry about the pictures.....

Re: Endless Knight

The last to pictures Look Green. I don't know if it is my screen or your pictures.

..?

Re: Endless Knight

It's the pictures. They're green to me, too.
It's probably because he films with a green screen behind the set.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: Endless Knight

yea, but it shouldn't effect it to much... besides, gotham city is a city full of co2 and stuff...

actually, which brings up the question, how should I present Gotham, what would look best...

Re: Endless Knight

A little colour correction will fix that greenish look. Just do a bit of that in post production, it could do with it.

Also, the part of title of this thread "by Alfa Animations" is a little supercilious, as all topics already have that after it, and it makes it a little long. Just a thought.

how should I present Gotham, what would look best...

What do you mean?
As in the general city? or exterior shots?

Re: Endless Knight

yea, the city feel, exterior shots I would say...

also, with batman films, are they (A) Blueish (B) or just darker?

also, at the climax, a helicopter... http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/7477-1.jpg is shooting in to the warehouse, how would I do the interior shot of the wall giving in to a hail of gunfire? I was thinking using bluetack and putting it on the wall as the "Bullets" came though, hence making it look like the wall is not strong enough to hold back the guns...

and btw ANP, it said by Alfa Animations for the reason that for a while there was about 20(*slightly less*) forms in Pre all about Batts, and people where getting confused...

Re: Endless Knight

Well, usually, cities are rather orange-ish or yellow-ish because of the lights. Though, blue-ish could work too. I'd experiment first.

Also, I took one of your frames and put it into photo shop, went to colour modifications, and decreased the green. It really looks good like that. A similar thing done in editing really would be very good.

For guns hitting stuff, replace 1 x 2 plain bricks in the wall with a 1 x 2 brick of the same colour but with an axle hole.
I find that they make pretty decent gun holes since they look just a little bit cracked. It will be an extreme hassle to animate, but it would look really cool.

Re: Endless Knight

"Headlight" pieces also look good for bullet holes. Like in this video.
