Looks like a cool project!
One thing, though:
I don't know if the animation samples I just watched from you (like the trailer) are very recent, but I would recommend doing A LOT of tests before tackling this project. I did notice that you got better in Son of Perez. I just believe the movie won't be as spectacular as you might think, or good enough to do the big budget any justice IF you don't really sit down on your butt and practice animation. A LOT! Like, do a certain movement (like a fist punch) until you think it looks perfect and can't be any better. You certainly will be able to improve immensely. I see you are very serious and dedicated to this project and this is just a piece of advice hoping to prevent you from being disappointed in the end.
Also, I would seriously consider doing 15 fps only. It's a lot easier, and, as you're not the most experienced animator (YET!) it's probably the better choice. I mean, fancypants' animation is very very good and he does use "only" 15 fps. I, too, don't think I could handle 24 properly.
I don't think "Ok animation" is enough for this kind of project! Enough for you to be satisfied, I mean.
Another thing:
Definitely buy the original (or the new one with the to-be-released Superheroes line) Joker! I does look a lot better than a "home-made" one. With a budget of over a thousand bucks, it'd be a mistake not to put a lot of effort and, well, part of the money, into minifigs and sets.
This post may sound a bit negative but it's not like that, actually. The positive stuff probably already has been communicated over the course of those five pages. So I thought I'd emphasize on the points that I think can in fact help you and make it understandable where I'm coming from.
Best of luck with the project!
