6-Frame Walk Test.

Re: Generic walk/run cycle tests thread

That was okay. Needs some arm swinging, though.

The minifig moved back a stud at around 0:01. This happened to me once in an old animation I made. I made sure I didn't make a mistake like that again by constanly comparing the stored frames to the live view to make sure the minifig is where I want it to be.

Really short test:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXzLluUegXw
I hate that the quality suffers, when uploading to YouTube! mini/madhead
It looks awesome in FramebyFrame! And it sucks on YouTube. mini/sad
Btw, What do you think? mini/smile

Re: Generic walk/run cycle tests thread

That looked like 3 frames instead of 4, you seem to be lacking the balanced-between-the-studs frame. If you didn't put that frame in becuase it was hard to make the minfig balance, use some poster putty to help balance it (make sure the putty isn't noticeable). Also, tilt the minfig forward a bit. People are always tilted forward or back when they're running.

Custom leg walk cycle:

I've had that animation for a while, just never found the right place to post it. Animated at 15 fps. I don't believe other such pieces exist (not by the LEGO brand at least). Hopefully when i get all my LEGO back again and start animating once more, I'll be able to find this piece since it adds a more 'realistic' touch. If it's lost, I'll make a 'cleaner' looking piece. With this piece you can see where the plastic melted incorrectly.

Re: Generic walk/run cycle tests thread

that was really cool mini/smile were did you get those legs?

Re: Generic walk/run cycle tests thread

He melted a pair of normal legs, I guess. It was very interesting. I'd like to see that in one of your films.

Now that I watch it again, you do have that frame.

But it looks like there's something wrong with it.
Did you watch Fancypants' tutorial? If you did, watch it again and try to see what's different between your run cycle and Fancypants'.

very nice mini/smile but you need to focus in on the minifig. sorry to repeat this so many times mini/tongue the animation was great, but you messed up with the arms repeating themselves. i used to have this problem as well, but to fix that i have a piece of paper and pen(or pencil) next to me to keep track of the cycle. hope this helps mini/smile

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

Re: Generic walk/run cycle tests thread

The arm movements were kind of jerky, but otherwise good.
