Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

That episode was fantastic! Absolutly awesome!

What made it scary was the suspense and not the normal JUMPING OUT AT YOU episode like with the Weeping Angels which never scares me.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I was actually pretty disappointed with the new episode.

I didn't really find the episode very scary at all, which was what I was looking forward to from the trailer thing at the end of the last episode. It was creepy, but the 'scary' bits could have been so much scarier. I thought the two parter weeping angels was scarier than that, so far I think they're my favourite episodes with Matt Smith.
The rest of the episode was okay, nothing really that good. I quite liked the story, not too complicated.

One thing I noticed though was the way that when they shot the bit of the Doctor and Alex going into the cupboard the cupboard seemed to be about a meter from George's bed. I know they needed to have the actors completely disappear into it, but I'm sure they could have done that better with a different angle.

And unfortunately next week's looks even worse. The only thing that I'm looking forward to in these last episodes is the weeping angles, but they were only in the trailer for like 2 seconds so I doubt they'll play a very big part.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Two episodes in a row with stuff involving cupboards. xD

I liked the last episode, cool stuff, I felt that it seemed to lack a bit of creepy though, and the colours seemed a tad off. But a good episode.

I completely didn't grasp what's happening in the next episode by the trailer. mini/tongue Oh well, I'll see it next week.

Also, on another note, what ever happened to the Doctor's Daughter? Is she ever coming back? It's been 3 years since her episode.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Well I hated the ending of The Doctor's Daughter with her like surviving. But I don't think she will come back.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I agree, ANP. It's disappointing that they clearly set up her return and then left her hanging. Interestingly enough, though, the actress who played Jenny is actually married to David Tennant.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Really? Wow. xD
Just hope she comes back eventually. It would be funny if she's regenerated since then, and they stumble upon her looking different. Haha She also could make an interesting companion. I'd like to see a non-human for a change.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

She's the daughter of 5th Doctor (in real life) and the 'daughter' of the 10th Doctor (in the show) and she is married to her (in show) father.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I forgot to comment on the most recent episode!

Spoiler (click to read)

It was a good episode overall, I liked the storyline. Although it still does leave a paradox, if Amy never stayed there for 36 years, then she couldn't have brought her past self into her time zone. Otherwise, it was quite convincing.
Also, the robots are cool, their face opens up! I did notice that they walk like C3PO. I think it's getting back to the "normal" episodes, or not overly complicated at least. It had more action than story really.
All in all, average for DW.

Also, I doubt Moffat will return to anything from the RTD era. Shame, since there are so many unfulfilled promises.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

The next one with the rooms looks to be the best so far!  Hopefully the trailers don't deceive us like in "Let's Kill Hitler".

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I know most of you don't watch Torchwood but what did everyone think of the finale? I found the series really good, not as solid as the previous one but I still liked it and enjoyed the American aspect of it though lots of reviews have been negative of the whole thing. Guess I'm in a minority.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I watched Tourchwood too, I was coming on here to comment on it actually.

The finale I really liked. A really good ending if you ask me. The only thing I thought was

Spoiler (click to read)

it was a bit sad that Ester died right at the end. I was hoping her, Rex, Jack and Glenn were all going to come together to form a new Tourchwood. Perhaps just Rex then.

I've also got the first series of Tourchwood on DVD, which me and my sister want to watch later. My nan said all the old ones were much better, I never saw them. I have to admit I prefer it when they have episodes more separate from one another. I like a sub story running through the whole thing (like in series 6 of Doctor Who there was the 'silence will fall' and now there's the death of the doctor) and maybe a few two parters. Some of the episodes in Tourchwood were really boring, the second one was basically them on the plane for the whole time, next to no real action. I hope they don't do one big thing again, or if they do at least put some episodes with a bit of action in them.

I also saw a bit of this weeks Doctor Who, but it seemed even worse than the last one. They seem to be running out of ideas, although I read what tomorrows is about and it sounds quite good. Hopefully it will be good, I didn't watch the trailer so I'm not expecting anything really cool like what they seem to do with all the trailers (put all the good bits in, but when it comes to the actual episode its rubbish!).

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Well, that's the end of Amy and Rory.

My brother and I have different thoughts about The Doctors Room.

Either The Doctor was in his room or all his compainions

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I liked the new episode, better than the others. I liked the actor from Little Britain in it, can't remember his name but I liked his appearance in it.

I feel quite sad that Amy and Rory have now gone. They seem to have had a big part in it, it seems weird to write them out. But if they did go on longer it would be really strange to write them off, they would have been in it far too long.
But I love Rory's Jaguar E type (I think it was that). Much better than his mini!

The only thing I thought was weird in this episode was the Weeping Angles. They weren't real, but in 'The Time of Angles' the one which came out of the telly wasn't real. They said what ever takes the form of an angle becomes an angle, so why weren't these ones real? And I don't know what was in the Doctors room, perhaps

himself or his companions (as BindingBrick said), the Daleks, or maybe even River. Guess we'll never know.

Next weeks episode looks good too, I'm looking forward to that. All I wonder now is how is the Doctor going to be saved? Maybe this is really the last ever series, but they made it so the Daleks would come back. Maybe he'll regenerate, I actually heard that they were thinking about having David Tennant regenerate into Johnny Depp. That would be cool. And one of the James Bond actors was in the line up once too. Just have to wait and see.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

He will not regenerate as he is signed for Series 7 and yes that means that this is not the last Season.

Sorry, just felt like correcting your spelling. Also it's Torchwood (anagram of Doctor Who)
Most of what I would say has been said so...

I don't think Amy and Rory have left, after all, the next episode brings back Craig as a one-off companion against the Cybermen and that leaves two episodes for an epic two parter, which will (I suppose) include Rory and Amy.

Also, they haven't gone back in time in ages, its all been in the present!
I WANNA BACK IN TIME EPISODE!

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Well, I don't know. BBC showed scenes from the next week's episode and it didn't seem like Amy and Rory are in it. I do think they're going to be still in the show, it's definitely not end of Amy and Rory. Though I don't know. And I think that this week's episode was one of the creepiest ones so far. mini/what

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

I am a huge Doctor Who fan but ever Matt Smith took over and Russell P Davies stopped writing I have become more of an outsider to the show and have been content to watch older episodes.
Matt Smith is not all bad, he has just had alot of bad scripts to work with. Steve Moffat is a good writer but he cannot write to the level that Mr. Davies did.
The really need to refine this show, I love the Cybermen but instead of looking forward to the episode all I can think is how will they miss this up? Also they introduced new Daleks last year and we have seen what once since then in the season finale last season.
I agree they need to go back in time more and do more sci fi stuff and less of this paranormal creepy stuff.
Just my thoughts, thanks for letting me in.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Maybe now that Amy and Rory are gone we can get back to the good old R.T.D. days where the Doctor just went on adventures.  This week it was rumored that Michelle Ryan will be the next, but I highly doubt this.

Re: The Doctor Who Discussion thread(SPOILER ALERT!)

Tobias there will not be a two parter this season.
There's only 2 episodes left and one's a stand alone episode

Episode 12 - Closing Time
Episode 13 - The Wedding of River Song

And then it's over for Season 6.

Reminds me of the SJA episode with the doctor - The Wedding of Sarah Jane or something along those lines.
I thought that there was 3 episodes left. Never mind.
