Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Super 8
In my opinion this was a fantastic film about a group of teenagers making a film on super 8 film (hence the name) set in the 70's it has a great mix of Action, adventure, romance, Sci-Fi and some horror elements! I thoroughly enjoyed the film it has great effects and many plot twists. . .if you want to know what they are go see the film! 5/5 mini/smile

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Alien 3
It's not as bad as some make it out to be, and the Director's cut is definitely better than the theatrical release. Still, nowhere near as good as the first two installments are, and at times the alien looks terrible. Especially in contrast to the previous two films. I guess it's lame 90s computer effects starting to spread. Also, I'm not sure why but almost every angle is a frog perspective. It got annoying after a while, I felt like a five year-old watching big people do stuff.

Yes, seeing it's a prequel, those were the characters of the original being set up.

That's why I mentioned it. mini/cat

Pool Boy: Drowning Out the Fury

Awful, awful movie. I didn't expect much from it with a 3.5 score on IMDb, but seriously? Half the movie was archive footage of the vietnam war and then there was some stupid "director's commentary" that would stop the movie to play some lame jokes. There was some funny parts, but they were only funny because they were so bad.
Even Danny Trejo must be disappointed.

Apollo 18

It's a fun movie, but for people that like the usual gory horror movies, they'll be disappointed. The way it was filmed made it very interesting and different. 3/5

2001: A Space Odyssey

First viewing. It was pretty good. My enjoyment of it might have been enhanced if I didn't watch it so late at night.

Actually there's been heaps of lost footage films ever since the Blair With Project.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Shark Night 3D
Wow, that movie actually wasn't that bad...Although to be fair, it wasn't very good. Started off nice and strong, went to a little bit of a chill 10 minutes, then was back in action

Spoiler (click to read)

Once Malik's arm was eaten by a shark, which was pretty graphic.

I must say I am surprised this movie got its PG-13 rating, because there was nudity, graphic violence, blood AND gore, and some of the people had some potty mouths mini/tongue, as the language was rather strong for a PG13 movie. The movie itself was rather intense, and had you on the edge of your seat, but in reality once you're done with the movie, you realize, "Wow, that was not that scary." In some shots the 3D was rather good, but 3D was unnessecary, as I now wish they didn't make me pay an extra $3.50 to see a couple of scenes "coming towards me." Also, if you're wondering

Spoiler (click to read)

The sharks are in the water, because two guys, and the sheriff thought they could make thousands of dollars by attaching video cameras to the sharks, and feeding people to the sharks, then selling it online as, "Real Life Shark Attacks." Pretty stupid, huh?

I'm going to end this with, I do not think you should spend $8.50 + concessions=Ridiculous price. Because this movie is only average, and goes by so fast. Shark Night 3D gets a 2/4 by me, and should not be viewed by anyone under 12 years old, due to the nudity, and graphic violence including blood and gore, which would deeply bother most kids.

Young Frankenstein
I have seen the movie about two times. It is a comedy of a horror film which is Frankenstein. Young Frankenstein was a very funny movie. 4/5

Planet 51

It was really funny, I liked how it was a reversed version of E.T. The animation was really good too.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Clerks II
So good, one of my favourite comedy films. Better than the first one IMO, plus some scenes (mainly the final(ish) scene]) are genuinely really emotional, and seem to get me every time. And the donkey-show scene is !@#$ hilarious.

A Scanner Darkly
Pretty awesome. Loved the rotoscoping. I watched it three times in the space of like 18 hours, mainly just to get my head around the plot line. But yeah, great film.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Minority Report
Something we had to watch in English. I had heard of it before but didn't know whether I'd like it. Actually, it's a brilliant film.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Kung-fu panda 2
It was a pretty good film, which,if you don't know,is the sequel to "kung-fu panda".
It was awesome, and the fighting scenes were BRILLIANT.
It also told the origin of the main character,"po".
Overall:5/5,10/10.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

The Dark Knight
Watched it for examination and inspiration for my City of Darkness film. This is probably the 10th time I've seen this film and it never ceases to impress me. The acting, the cinematography, the action sequences, everything is just so perfect. Can't imagine it being any better.

Back In Black!

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Strait-Jacket

Joan Crawford was pretty good in this. Though I was hoping for some more gruesome murder sequences, the axe murder in the barn was pretty lame. The other axe murders were good though, and I liked the twist ending.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Rush Hour
Great movie. Jackie Chan is awesome. Though I can't figure out way it's called Rush Hour.

Rush Hour 2
Like the first, a great movie.

Rush Hour 3
This one is probably my least favorite though it's not bad, it's just my least favorite out of the three.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

Final Destination

I quite liked it actually. A lot of the CGI looks pretty naff now, especially

Spoiler (click to read)

the bit where all the cars blow up

but other than that it was quite good.
My mum said there was one she watched which she said was scarier. Something where a hotel fills up with water or something? Anyone know which one it is?
