Topic: I've narrowed down to four computers - which one ?

So here are four computers that I am trying to decide between.  I am wanting to stay under $300.  Only the $260 computer has a wireless card included.  None of them have a video card but do have "integrated graphics".  So which one would be best suited for making stop frame animation movies?

HP Pavilion Slimline s5702f AMD Athlon II X2 Dual-Core 2.80GHz Desktop PC - 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, SuperMulti DVD, Wireless 802.11b/g/n - Refurbished  $260

HP Pavilion Slimline s5737c AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz Desktop - 3GB RAM. 500GB HDD, SuperMulti DVD, Fast Ethernet, 6-in-1 card reader - Refurbished  $279

HP Pavilion p6627c AMD Athlon II X4 Quad-Core 2.9GHz Desktop - 4GB RAM, 640GB HDD, SuperMulti DVD - Refurbished  $299

Get the $260 one. Its a good price since you get 4GB of ram and a 1TB hdd. This one is the fastest and the graphics are probably good.

Here is what is listed for the graphics:
    "ATI Radeon HD 3000 integrated graphics with up to 1696MB Total Available Graphics Memory as allocated by Windows 7"

Not sure what this really means.  So would you still say the graphics are good?

yes, that is a preaty good graphics. Good enough to watch videos, make animations, and edit video.

...But not to run a fairly powerful 3D modeling program, such as 3Ds MAX or Blender.

I personnaly would go with the $300 one. Not sure how good the graphics are though.

Because it's a quad core? If so, what type of situations would justify spending the extra for the quad over the dual core?

Well, if he starts doing heavier work such as Blender, After Effect, programs by the Foundry they usaully recommend quad cores. Also, you get a good amount of RAM and ghz and with the others you have to sacrifice one for the other.

Have you considered building a computer? You can always get more bang for your buck that way.

if all he wants to do is make animations, edit photos with GIMP/ PhotoShop and video editing as long as it isnt super super multi-million dollar effects with after affects. I still think the one with the wi-fi is good enough.

Yeah, it may be "good enough" but he could have "even better" if he built it himself.

Well keep in mind, these all sound like laptops? Laptops are some of the hardest things to scratch build becuase of the limited about of parts, and the even smaller sapce to instal into. For Laptop, i would go with th 260, if all you want to do is animation, nothing fancy.

These aren't laptops, they are using desktop CPUs and say desktop on them.
