Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Well, everyone says it's because they enjoy it, and I do too. I like legos, that's what you say too. But I think there's another reason, for me. It is actually one of the few things I can do better than people I know personally. I think that is one of the things that motivates me the most, just so that I can show I can do something better than someone. I think it's quite sad, as a reason, doing it because you can do it right, but seeing how things are in this world I think that it might like that.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

I brickfilm because I get to express my ideas into creative videos. I also just love to make people laugh. I hope I get to have a career in animation when I am older. Another reason I brickfilm is so I can get away from all the crap that goes on in my life. Like family problems and terrifying things I have been through in my life cause of my parents and their ignorant fighting. I haven't been very "happy" lately because of those fights, but when I post a video and see my fans telling me things like, "This video was awesome!" "You rock!" it makes me feel I have a purpose in life, and the fact that I bring people joy with my videos, really makes me happy.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Okay guys....HERE COMES THE SPEECH:

I brickfilm because I love it. It is a hobby of mine. I like the fact that I can create a video for my own enjoyment, release it then show it to people, for THEIR enjoyment. I like the fact that I can create my own animation, no one has to tell me what to do, I can just go out there and do it. And with this help, it could lead to a better place for all of us. Thank you.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

For two reasons: firstly, it's a good way to make films without any huge expenses (you know, actors and such) and secondly, I like LEGO. This is where all pieces fall into place.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

I've been brickfilming on and off for about three years, only creating a handful of films, and only a couple of those being non cringe worthy. I've lost motivation many times as when i release film i don't get much praise, constructive criticism or motivation to make another one. I find animation fun on occasions but most of the time its a pain in the ass. I think the reason i keep making brickfilms is because one day i hope to make a film that I'm satisfied with and actually generates attention, it's a goal in that respect. I have no real love of lego, it wasn't even my favourite childhood toy. I just like making films. I want to carry on doing stop motion and animation in general as its something i want to be good at and maybe have a job in.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

I am driven by the desire to make at least one film that is really, really good.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Been Brickfilming since the LEGO Studios set back in 2000/2001 because I was interested in films and film-making. I liked the aspect of being able to present a form of entertainment and kind of do what the "big boys" do in Hollywood.  My favourite directors were Spielberg and Lucas, and I really wanted to be a film director. Doing the Brickfilms allowed me to play with that idea and kind of see what it was like. In later years, after reading of how Spielberg used to make mini-movies with his Super 8 camera, I felt like I was doing something similar by doing "mini-movies" with my webcamera. It taught me patience, it helped me learn about the process of film-making. I lost interest along the way because, though I learned more patience by doing it, my attention span just seemed to get shorter and shorter. My interests sort of shifted, too. At the present, I'm more interested in voice-over work and acting than direction or animation, so I tend to not do it as often. I never really made a Brickfilm, rather an actual short with a story, aside from the one that pretty much ripped off Star Wars in 2007; though I made shorts like commercials and PSA's, I could never get around to actually doing something with a story, as motivation and animating moods are rarely present nowadays. I tend to try to voice-over as often as possible because I find it much more enjoyable than animating it and editing it and so forth, though there is a sense of satisfaction there after the short Brick-mercial is done. There's also the clean up factor, since I animate in my bedroom and stowing away the LEGO afterwards at 5 AM when you're sleepier than a Snorlax is no fun! With my recent obsession with Mark Hamill, it's only further boosted my interest in acting in general and especially voice acting. The man is EPIC.
I'm also long-winded... Oops! mini/tongue

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

I've been brick filming since 2007. It started out as just a personal hobby, but along the way, I've discovered myself. I know it sounds really cheesy, but creating films helped me onto a road of self-discovery. It showed me plenty of motivation, patience, and self-improvement. Along the way, It's helped me meet new people from around the world, because brick filming is so universally easy. Anyone can do it without a huge budget. I've now begun filming sketches and editing for projects at and for school now, and began a film making club for the school. Now, I realized I want a career of film making. It has shaped me.

With that being said, I was originally motivated for monetary causes. I've had  a few breakthroughs, and even a YouTube Revenue deal, but money is not the foundation you want in "too" many choices.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Because it's fun and i love to build sets and animate. And also because it's cool to have people supporting your brickfilms.

I like stuff...

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

I brickfilm because I like to animate, and I've been using legos for years.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Like everyone these days, I'm in it for the MONEY!!!  mini/wink

Just kidding.  I'm not really sure why I do it, I guess it's just sort of an interesting hobby.  Plus, who else can say they can make LEGO move by itself?

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Because live action is too hard and......I love Brickfilming!!!

I'm working on getting my studio back up and running, so stay posted...

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

I know how to do it. Plus my friends think I'm a god. LOLZOR IM JK.

Nah, but I animate because it proves that I can make something inanimate become alive. And people marvel at it. Like: "OMG HOWD YOU DO DAT!!!1!11!!"

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

'Cause I love LEGOs and animating and writing a story and editing and... It's just fun! That's why.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Throughout my life, I've loved films. And I hope to one day become a director professionally.

But as impatient as I am, I pondered the question... "How do I make movies without some big budget...?"

With inanimate objects of course! mini/tongue

P.S. TO THE NUIMOBILE!!

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

I love movies, I love legos.

Been playing with legos since I was like 2 and when I first saw a Brickfilm in 06 I knew it was something I had to do. Even though I quit because of lack of funding (!@#$ camera, no new pieces, etc.) I always wanted to come back to it. Now that I have the equipment and such I am glad to be making brickfilms just because I love the final outcome. It is just awesome that you can tell a story from just moving LEGOs around.

Re: Why do you brickfilm?

Because I like seeing reactions of people when I say "I play with Lego"

Seriously, I have no idea.
