Re: YouTube

YouTube usual puts up a sponsored video at the side of videos, even if it's not really related.

So, I've been having some problems with YouTube, a lot of channels aren't showing up on my home page, and I have to actually check those channels for me to see anything from them.

Has this been happening to anyone else?

Re: YouTube

Yay! I just hit 111 subscribers and just joined in April (this year).

And also. Nobody sign up for sub4sub.com or eazysubs.com.
Both spam sites they (EDIT: I meant 'that') get passed around YouTube. I've gotten a few YouTube PMs with them lately.

Although I joined in May, I only have 9 subscribers. Although my old camera (that I don't use anymore) has terrible quality, my videos themselves are pretty good. (Hopefully I'm not the only one here who thinks that)

Different question:
On YouTube, I have an old account that I don't use much anymore. I checked the account settings, and YouTube said that I could apply for monetization. For some reason, on the account that I use now, I checked account settings, and there is no option for monetization. Why is this?

How many subscribers and views did you get on your old account?

On both accounts, I have 9 subscribers. My old account is 5 months older, has about 90 more videos, and has a few thousand more views. The two accounts are relatively similar based on their time online.

A few thousand more views?!

Yep, that explains it.

I always get those. It says something like "wOW. GR8 vids man" Then I click on it and it says
"I really liked your latest vid. but u don't have very many subs"

Then I think "I have more than 300 subs. I'm fine. I mark it as spam and move on. It's very annoying, yes, and it makes me excited to think that someone has PM'd me just to say they like my video and then... it's just some scam.
This is a good example of the many funny ways to deal with spam bots. (Nerimon is funny anyway)
I get a bunch of spam bots on my Hotmail. They send messages as my actual contacts and usually say they have "made money by just sitting at their computer. more than $100 a day. see u in work tomorrow man." But I live in Ireland and it would be euros, not dollars and I don't work, I am still in school and none of my contacts call me man, I am a girl, not a man. lol. All of these bots seem to think that spelling things wrong and using titles such as "Heyyyy" are what my contacts spell like and it's way off. mini/lol

Re: YouTube

So, basically, I should keep making videos and earning views, and in a few months, I should be able to apply for monetization? (monetization, not partners)

Sorry, I just really never understood the monetization/partners stuff.

I never understood how some people get popular and receive thousands of views.
Great videos, by the way:)

I get those too. People say how I deserve more subscribers and that my videos are awesome. If I deserve more subscribers, why didn't the message sender subscribe? This proves that thes messages are always spam.

Yeah, I get those 'Whoa, dude! Ur vids r great but check out [some spam site here] for more subz!' PMs like every week. mini/lol The first time I got one, I thought somebody was actually telling me that they liked my videos but turns out it's some spambot. When you go to spambots channels, you see your not the only person getting these PMs, people comment saying things like "Dude, stop spamming" and "Spambot!"

And whenever I get a PM like that, the person has like 400 subs. How? Sub for sub spam sites.

Re: YouTube

Youtube cares more about views than subs for becoming a partner, because so many people do sub 4 subs they could have 1000+ subs but only like a couple hundred overall views. But I'm not sure.

Some people have 1000s of subs and no videos.

Re: YouTube

On page 136, I wrote:

Views are not everything.

On page 103, I wrote:

Stop complaining guys, here is everything you need to be a YouTube Partner:

1. Views
Views are an important part obviously, but they're not the whole deal. The 100,000 marker was just an estimate someone made so no truth can be guaranteed from it.
2. Consistency
All those views mean absolutely nothing if you're getting them all off one video. Well done, you have a video with a million views, but that counts for nothing if the rest are hovering round the 100 mark. They need to see that you have a regular viewership so that you'll keep bringing in the views.
3. Regular uploads
YouTube recommend that you upload videos regularly - at least once a month. You'll notice that a lot of YouTube partners try to stick to this and there's a good reason behind that. Regular videos mean people will be checking up on you regularly. As such, more views and more adverts being seen.

Re: YouTube

I have a major question: YouTube sent me an email telling me that I can earn revenue off my videos. However, I already wrote stuff like "No profit was made from this video" in the description bar for my videos with licensed music in them. Can I still make money off my videos?
