Topic: My Animation Test

I'm new to this whole brickfilming thing, so I made a very short video which was a test of some very basic animating abilities, I was hoping I could get some constructive feedback before I go on to make videos with a plot, I know the lighting is poor and the image quality is a bit off, but that can be tweaked. I just want to know what you think of the fluidity of the movements and how I can improve on my first ever Brickfilm.

What fps did you use?

It didn't look like you eased in and out. Here's a tutorial.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

I shot at 15 fps, and I don't think I eased in and out I'll watch the tutorial, thanks! mini/smile

There's nothing wrong with the idea of trying to make your animation fluid by having your movements "accelerate" properly, but it seems that most people nowadays clutch onto that video and just go "yeah ease in and out and everything will be just fine". I think Timothy was commenting on the latter, where people just use "ease in and out" as some sort of magical blanket term to fix any animation.

Having said that, your animation looked like a lot of fun was had while making it. mini/mrgreen That's great. I love watching little films where you can really feel how much fun went into making it. Two things (not animation related, if you don't mind) I would mention, though:
- Remember to put all your webcam's settings to manual that you don't get the "flickering" effect apparent in the video. If you take a look at the ground, at some points it turns a very brownish colour completely different from what it was before. That's something to avoid.
- Focus! Make sure that whatever the viewer should be paying attention to is in focus and sharp as opposed to being slightly blurry.
