Topic: Pirate Animation tests

I've just gotten into brick films on YouTube and am hoping to try and make my own. I have some experience with live-action and special effects (As you can see from my channel) but haven't tried this before!

My second attempt came out like so:

...And this is my forth attempt... Hope there is improvement:

I think the movements start off to slow and finish too fast but it sorta works. Also I have no idea what caused the background to change halfway through mini/sad

The animation was a little choppy, but your quality is amazing! Do you mind telling me what camera you use?

Welcome to BricksInMotion.com, Hootmat! mini/smile
If you haven't already, check out The Beginner's Guide to Bricks in Motion.

I didn't watch the first attempt but the second one was smooth and your quality is AMAZING! You just need to get rid of the picture counter.

Re: Pirate Animation tests

Thanks! Yeah I need to keep working at the smoothness!
I use a Canon EOS 550D/Rebel T2i and 18-55mm lens. I use it for making live action movies but thought I'd try it out with this.

Re: Pirate Animation tests

Smoothness should come in time, it just involves a lot of practice obviously. You are definitely on your way though.

For tests, the picture counter is fine but for a finished film, you may want to have a clean picture. I personally think it was a little cool to watch it go. It seems your already using something like 15 frames per second so that's good. Just keep practicing!

Re: Pirate Animation tests

Oh yeah I wouldn't wanna add that to a finished product. I am aiming for 15 just need to keep practising mini/smile

Dude! That's great! mini/bigsmile
I made a big pirate movie before, and I hope you make one, you have a nice style. I especially like the animation in the second one and the camera angle.
