Topic: Objects Created Out of Sight in Blender

I've been working on a CGI model in Blender, and I've reached the stage in which I need to add some armatures to a character in it. But whenever I create an armature, it appears out of sight. In fact, whenever I try to create any object, it appears offscreen. Is there any way to bring the objects to the main model?

The only solution I can think of is to export and import the model into a new .blend file (though I haven't tried it yet).

Re: Objects Created Out of Sight in Blender

Can you move the camera/viewpoint?

Re: Objects Created Out of Sight in Blender

No, the objects are created not only too far for the camera to see, but for the 3D view itself. When I hit the "S" key, the dotted line points me in the direction of the object, but even if I move it 10000000 units down the X axis (G + X + 10000000), the dotted line continues to point in the same direction. I'll post a screenshot here when I get a chance.

Re: Objects Created Out of Sight in Blender

Your problem is that you probably (Accidentally) moved the 3D cursor. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6a/Blender_3D-cursor.png
This is easy to do, because left-clicking repositions it.
The way to fix this is to press SHIFT+S an choose "Snap Cursor to Center"
