BiM 2011: Lone Rangers

Lone Rangers

This is our entry for BiM 2011: Tales of Yore (ToY). This film was our alternate entry, due to the failure of our preivous entry (Always Know who Your Friends Are). This was made in two weeks, and does not feature effects, due to time limits and rendering squanders. Music by Kevin MacLeod.

EDIT: For anyone who wants to know the cast of characters, here they are down below:

Brandon Fields as William
Aaron Bulger as Tanner
Joseph Hayden as Travis
Loic F-B as Jean-Paul
and AnnoyingNoises as The Crowds/Ron/Rich

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

Wow. The animation was incredible but at the beginning the floor moved and I personally didn't like the sound of the gunshots, they just didn't sound like gunshots. 4/5

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

Hey, smooth animation! mini/bigsmile

I think the film was greatly done for an unfinished movie (Without Special Effects).

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

Your animation has improved so much since you first joined here. And I have to say, whatever camera you got is pretty impressive.
I liked your film, a good entry into this competition. But am I correct in thinking it was based in 1800's America? Because (excuse me if I'm wrong, being English I know little about American history) I thought that at that time America was still 'forming' as it were. Like, wasn't everything still a lot of desert and stuff, like the old west? Because it looked as though it was based in modern times, the cloths, the sets, and the guns, etc.
I still thought it was a pretty solid entry though guys, so well done.
I'll give it a 3/5, overall it was pretty good, but the modern kind of look to it made it hard to tell what time period it was from. Perhaps with green screening and stuff it'd be a bit clearer, and I'm also happy you didn't delay it's release any longer. There didn't seem any reason to postpone it to me, so I'm glad you released it now.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!

It is supposed to be based in 1804, and yes, some of the clothes that are being worn were not the fashion of that time, but we tried to use as many historical elements as we could. Unfortunately, we only have so many 'historical' clothing of that time period, so we had to opt out to use other elements (Such as the leather jacket). Hopefully we'll have better clothing for the remastered version.

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

That was my worst vocal performance. ever. mini/tongue Sorry 'bout that. Not as good with more serious things unless it's with deep or gravely voices. Hehe
Jargon did a good job.

Good job with your animation, the best yet. mini/smile
Set design needs some work. You should post some in the critique thread and get some feedback on them.

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

Wow...It's impressive how much you've improved. I liked how you took a professional approach. Voices worked out for the most part, but there were two different voice actors that I couldn't hear no matter how high I turned up the volume. Please fix that for your next film, by amplifying the voices in audacity mini/smile.

Spoiler (click to read)

I wasn't too keen on the battle scene. I guess it would help out more if you used effects, and I read the description, so I know why you didn't, but the whole battle scene didn't really work out, except the part when the two guys were battling with the metal pipe, and the knife, that was well done.

Other things I saw, was I saw a tinch of light flicker, and I saw a little bit of set bumps, but hey happens to almost everyone. Now onto the ratings:
Story 4
Animation 5
Cinematography 5
Sound 4
Overall 4.5
All ratings out of 10

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

You've improved a whole lot. The Missing Piece is still your best, though.

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

sets, sets, sets, try not to show the wall of the room your animating in even with a short time in which to make the film, unless it takes place on a desk.

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

The animation was good, though.

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

Can you tell me specifically who voiced who? There are some good voice actors in this, like Jargon and AnnoyingNoisesProducions, so I'd like to know.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

Re: ToY: Lone Rangers

Eh, it was okay.  The story was decent, if not particularly exciting.  The animation was very good, and definitely the best aspect of the film, but there were a few places where it could use cleaning up.  The biggest issue I had with it was the sound.  The voices of the two main guys were pretty good, but some of the characters had really soft voices, and the foreigner's voice had this really weird echo.  The gunshot sound was pretty annoying, too.  Still, not bad.

3/5
