Rope
Really loved this. James Stewart was great. The way suspense was built made me think of Inglourious !@#$%^&*, with the long dialogues etc.
The Thing From Another World
The remake is definatly better, but it's still an enjoyable 50's Sci-Fi movie with great dialogue and some little suspensfull scenes. And an awesome guy set on fire scene and possibly the first one in a movie ever. But it's kinda outdated and there arn't much kills (on screen)

The Tenant
Awesome. Again a very slow build up but it always pays off. Very similar to Rosermary's baby.
Tangled
- it was better than I thought but my god was it predictable.

Cars 2
It has toilet humour. A PIXAR movie has toilet humour. The people who bought us Toy Story and Up used toilet humour. And, because he was such a delight in the last movie, Larry The Cable Guy is now the main character. And he's even more annoying!
Utter tripe. Its worse than the lowest Dreamworks movies. Even if Pixar didn't have such a good reputation, it would still be one of the worst movies of the year.
Thanks! Now I dont hqve to review it. Oh well I wil a little bit but first SORRY for double posting but im on my iPod soooo...
Well... Max covered pretty much of this piece of junk. I hated the first Cars movie. I thought it was sobad it felt like Joel Schumacher or George Lucas had something to do with it. It portraid itself to be better than it was. The plot holes were hilarious, the characters were bland and boring...
Soo... Offcourse this made me excited about Cars 2. I went in with low expectations and came out crying cause I was so wrong about it. It was so much worse than the previous one, and that is saying something.
It was boring, even more plot holes and even more boring and bland characters. I am not gonna spoil it for you people who hasnt seen it but believe me, youll pretty much know the entire story line after watching the trailer and watched the first 3 minutes of the film. But please... dont see this movie, you have been warned...

When reading this post it seems like when you saw Cars 2 you went to hell and returned. Cars was definitely the worst PIXAR film (Before 2011) no doubt, but was it really that bad? I know you can have your own opinion, but I have seen plenty other worse films than Cars, in fact I actually thought that Cars was pretty good. I can't really say anything about Cars 2 due to the fact that I haven't seen it yet, but from what I've seen it doesn't look half as bad as you say it does (Granted once again, I have not seen the film, but I can have my opinion on what I think it will be like).

Max, you weren't talking about execution in your original comment. You were aghast that Pixar would use toilet humour.
I dont count your mentioned examples as toilet humour. Toilet humour is when you expel bodily fluids (this includes fart-jokes, which was in Cars 2)- or the bodily fluids are seen.
I know the pee is Oil, but your telling me that whenever my car is leaking oil its just going to the toilet!? Thats more stupider and immature than the analogy that god is farting whenever there is thunder.
I dont know what the faeces consists of - and the fact that cars apparently excrete made me almost walk out. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact I was with my family, I would have walked out as soon as I found out Mater was the replacement for Bruce Campbell. I've seen worse movies, but this one was simply not worth my time. I often can enjoy bad movies ironically, but this was just really cheap. Heck, at least 'The Last Airbender' made me laugh a couple of times! I only laughed once, and judging from the complete silence of the cinema - Its not just down to a bad sense of humour...
I laughed at a bit where for a few seconds they showed a car version of The Mikado. Why didn't the movie just show the entire play? How dare this movie reference light-hearted satire when its comedy is the lowest form of humour!
Max's rants are slowly decreasing in quality. They're getting increasingly hole-y. I don't laugh at them like I used to.
People actually liked my old rants? Whenever I did any kind of rant before people shunned them and downvoted me. I guess you just cant win in life....
I didn't go into much detail because I have a full Cars 2 review written for Planet Brainfart (which I hope to release Friday next week [/plug]) - and I didn't want to end up re-writing the entire review right here.
Plus, its hard to make something just plain bad entertaining. Its too good to be laughably bad, but its too terrible to be enjoyed for what it actually is.
Captain Paprika: The Fresh Colander
Actually that poster says: 'Captain The First Avenger America' (reminds me of the 'Scream 4' poster: 'Scre-four-m'). I'm put off that movie by the three awful Captain America movies I have seen before (the 1990 one, and the two low budget Reb Brown movies - although the second one has CHRISTOPHER LEE!!)

The Prestige
That was one hell of an ending. Brilliant film, best one I've seen in a while.

Max, what kind of farts do you have? ![]()
I disagree with part of your definition. I don't think it has to be seen to be "toilet humor", which is a pretty general term.
Toy Story 3: Lincoln logs = poo
Finding Nemo: They were talking about poo
Monsters Inc.: Yellow snocones = pee-pee
A Bug's Life: "poo poo" = poo
Cars: He was talking about pee-pee
I know the pee is Oil, but your telling me that whenever my car is leaking oil its just going to the toilet!?
Firstly, I did NOT say anything about oil. Quote please?
Secondly, Cars is not real-life. They can't be compared too closely.
Toy Story 3: Lincoln logs = poo
Finding Nemo: They were talking about poo
Monsters Inc.: Yellow snocones = pee-pee
A Bug's Life: "poo poo" = poo
Cars: He was talking about pee-pee
In Toy Story 3 they did not MENTION poo. They said lincoln logs and Ham just answered "I don't think those were lincoln logs". In Cars 2 I don't remember them neccessary mention poo but just by watching the scene you know exactly what they ment, they really tried to make it funny but.. it's not.
What plot holes?
Like when they were about to drive to california (cause apparently they could book an entire stadium for everyone to go to in like 10 minutes and no they could not have booked it in beforehand cause how in the world could they guess that maybe it would be a tie) and you see that Lightning is looking at a screen that shows Mac's face... where is that camera? There is no camera that is pointing at Mac at that direction.
But I don't understand how they could have booked this giiiaaaaant stadium for the finale with the 3 cars. It doesn't make sense.
Also, in Cars 2 they made such a huge deal about a car getting broke it was like "Oh no, oh god no!" - shouldn't that consider the green car dude from the first movie like a murderer? He pretty much destroyed every single car in the first race and like drives in to everyone but they still let him go on.
In Toy Story 3 they did not MENTION poo. They said lincoln logs and Ham just answered "I don't think those were lincoln logs".
And I did not use the word MENTION. I said "Lincoln logs = poo". It's still toilet humor, which is my point.
Imply. Verb. Strongly suggest the truth of existence of something not expressly stated.
In Cars 2 I don't remember them neccessary mention poo but just by watching the scene you know exactly what they ment, they really tried to make it funny but.. it's not.
I never mentioned Cars 2. What are you responding to? You quoted me, so I'm assuming you were responding to something I said.
(regarding plot holes in Cars)
and you see that Lightning is looking at a screen that shows Mac's face... where is that camera? There is no camera that is pointing at Mac at that direction.
That's not a plot hole.

I haven't seen Cars in a while, so I don't remember the dialog pertaining to those scenes, but it's not a stretch to think they had a backup stadium in case of a tie or something.
And I did not use the word MENTION. I said "Lincoln logs = poo". It's still toilet humor, which is my point.
They don't say it out loud that it is toilet humor. It fit in with the story while in Cars 2... it seemed just forced to me.
I never mentioned Cars 2. What are you responding to? You quoted me, so I'm assuming you were responding to something I said.
I didn't direct that at you...
That's not a plot hole.
I looked it up now on IMDB and I saw that they also put it in there as a plot hole. And it is part of the plot. Lightning is talking to Mac, thats what changes the entire story from Lightning getting "thrown" out.
I haven't seen Cars in a while, so I don't remember the dialog pertaining to those scenes, but it's not a stretch to think they had a backup stadium in case of a tie or something.
But come on, HOW often is it a tie! As the next stadium is in California I presume it is very big - which it is. So it has to be very popular so IN 10 MINUTES THEY JUST HAPPEN TO FIND A DAY THEY COULD HELL THE FINALE ON.
