Super 8
Loved it. Although I wanted more scenes witht he kids making films, best scenes of the movie. Although the short film during the credits were awesome.
4/5
Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D
Epicness
Spoiler (click to read)
This was the best out of them all, really. Especially number two.
The action scenes were great, the best was the pure epicness of the battle in blown-up Chicago. But I dislike that Ironhide died. The ending could lead to a fourth yet not
9/10
9/10? Are you effing kidding me!? More like -16/10. Seriously, The plot is mundane and recycled, the action is so forced and over stylized, and blatantly boring as well, Shia couldn't act if it would save his life, Whiteley serves no purpose whatsoever, and the other characters have no backstory, at all, and if Michael Bay rarely gives someone one, (like the guy in the first film with his wife and kid) nothing happens! Does it become a pivotal plot point? No. Does it come up at all anymore? No. THEN WHY HAVE IT!? Are we supposed to feel sorry for him? God! It's like I'm being tenderized by the action so I won't notice all the other crappy qualities the film has. What a horrible trilogy. Seriously, Michael Bay is the worst director of the century, worse then Tommy Wiseau. Yeah. I went there.
Now go watch Super 8.
It's called an opinion, Lamplights. Though I agree that Transformers 3 was atrocious.
Yeah sorry y'all, I got pissed off because the majority of my friends say the same thing then I hate them for it because they don't respect REAL movies.
(lol I think LegoAndStickfigs voted down our posts.)
I actually didn't down vote any of your posts.
I respect your opinion but you would the same with me.

Shanghai Noon
Great film. Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson were excellent. I love the humor in it. The plot had the chance to be beyond goofy, stupid even. But it wasn't. It was brilliant. I can't even decide on my favorite part. The acting all around was amazing, the action sequences were fast-paced and original, as was the storyline. I really love at the end:
"Well, my real nam's Wyatt Earp." "Earp?!?" "What?" "That's a terrible name for a Cowboy!"
The John Wayne crack was hilarious. A great, nearly perfect film.
9.7/10

Chinatown
Whoa, great movie. Brilliant twist, and Nicholson was superawesome as usual.
It seems like you watch a new movie everyday, Pillow.
You don't??

I know what you mean, my friends have a horrible taste in movies.

At least 1, more when I can. Today I saw 3.
Rosemary's Baby
Not what I expected, but it was an extremely awesome horror. The last 30 minutes were just insane.
Rosemary's Baby is fantastic, the closing music is one of the best pieces in horror cinema.
Captain America
Pretty good. Had some funny parts here and there. I loved the montage where he's traveling over America punching 'Hitler' in the nose over and over. One of the better superhero films, that's for sure.
"Is everything all right?" "I... I had a date." Hahaha

Cars 2
It has toilet humour. A PIXAR movie has toilet humour. The people who bought us Toy Story and Up used toilet humour. And, because he was such a delight in the last movie, Larry The Cable Guy is now the main character. And he's even more annoying!
Utter tripe. Its worse than the lowest Dreamworks movies. Even if Pixar didn't have such a good reputation, it would still be one of the worst movies of the year.

It's indeed very disapointing, but I wouldn't call it one of the worst movies of the year, it has it's good qualities and they should be praised.
I know we indeed expect way more from Pixar, but at least this was better than Kung Fu Panda 2.
If you wanna see a really good animation film, go see "Rango".

Um, Pixar has used toilet humor before.
I don’t think those were Lincoln Logs
Don't you realize we are swimming in our our - Shhhhhhh!
The yellow snocones in Monsters Inc.
In A Bug's Life someone ordered a "poo-poo platter" if I'm not mistaken.
A literal toilet joke in Monsters Inc with the toilet paper stuck to Mike's foot.
I'm serious! He's won three Piston Cups! Mater: He did what in his cup?
Those were subtle and well executed. This movie has a car peeing and another falling into a container of faeces (an apt metaphor for this movie). And how the heck do cars...never-mind!
I forgot about Mike falling into the toilet in Monsters Inc - but the toilets were clean and the joke was actually well timed. In Cars 2 it just throws bodily fluids into it and expects the mere presence of it to be funny. Its like a Selzerberg movie in how it just slaps on cheap humour and doesn't time it or fit it into the pace.

Max, you weren't talking about execution in your original comment. You were aghast that Pixar would use toilet humor.
Max's rants are slowly decreasing in quality. They're getting increasingly hole-y. I don't laugh at them like I used to. ![]()
