Topic: Blood Effect

Brickfilmers,

Does anyone know how to create a blood effect?
I don't have Photo Shop, is that a problem?
Thanks!

Re: Blood Effect

Alexsnowskate,

Thanks, but no thanks.
I just want to do a sort of dripping blood effect, similar to what Keshen8 uses for various Brickfilms such as 'Cardboard Gear Solid'.
Thanks for you help anyway! mini/smile

Re: Blood Effect

There is a whole thread dedicated to this called "Let It Bleed!". Have fun.

Re: Blood Effect

Well, I would probably use blender and use some fluid simulations and put it on a black background, then later remove the black and place it over top of the footage. A bit advanced, but it's what i would do. That, or use stock footage.

Re: Blood Effect

You should get particle illusion se: It is pretty cheap and has many effects including the blood effect that keshen8 uses. It also allows you to edit the effects right on top of a pre-made stop-motion!! Hope this helps!

Re: Blood Effect

Erm, I'm pretty sure Keshen uses Action Essentials.
That would be a good investment if you had the money, though.

Re: Blood Effect

Yeah, particle illusion has a lot of the same effects as the action essentials pack (about $100 on tubetape.com). I agree with you though ZP mini/bigsmile

Re: Blood Effect

Thanks guys for your help!
I've got quite allot of money that I've bee saving for several years, and it turns out I have $410, so any programs that are $120 or less, I'll be happy to check out mini/smile

Re: Blood Effect

Actually, the blood effect was a real-life liquid Keshen put under the box, and then filmed in live action for it. Just a little fyi mini/wink

But if you want to digitally add blood, I would suggest Photoshop (especially with that much money to burn), or if you want to be free, I would suggest GIMP, it's like Photoshop, but free and safe.

Good luck!

Re: Blood Effect

Yes. Gimp can do a lot of the stuff Photoshop can.

If you do buy it, get straight from Andrew Kramer, the creator.
It's the same price as it is on TubeTape
