Re: LEGO PPL 2

Also, cursing doesn't make films funnier. Usually the only thing it accomplishes is more people turning the volume down. mini/wink

I recommend you don't use bad words in your films if you want to be better.
Lots of people don't enjoy them, and it sometimes seriously bothers them.
And no one is ever going to complain if your films are completely clean.

Although I strongly agree, Keshen also uses many foul words, but is considered to be amongst the best brickfilmers.

I would actually like Keshen's stuff loads more if it didn't have swearing.

But yeah, animation could have been a little improved.
Some of the stuff was quite funny, but, as everyone else says, don't make stuff with pointless swearing and expect loads  to like it. I'm really sorry to be so serious about this, but I would have liked it so much more without the bad language. I mean, lego is a toy, making them swear is, in my opinion, taking it a bit too far. If you did the same with plasticene it would have been different. Lego films should be viewable to all ages in my opinion.
A part from that though, everything else seems good. I liked the way you lighted the set, that was pretty cool. And some of the animation was very good.
But, all I have to say to you is keep trying. I think we can see some great work from you, the medieval film you spoke of sounds great. Go make it! Make that, and I'm sure you'll get much more recognised as a good animator, because you have a lot of creativity in you! I'd love to see you use it to it's full. But, reading through your responses to people it seems like you know how to improve. I'm glad to hear that you're going to take the suggestions onboard. Good luck with the animating! mini/wink

See John. Now things are working out, you're getting the criticism you need. Maybe you should stay around, and you could criticize other films, and post for questions. Here is a wonderful guide, made by BertL http://www.bricksinmotion.com/forums/to … in-motion/

Re: LEGO PPL 2

Who cares about swearing, is that really the most focused on critique here?

Okay guys, please stay on topic. Remember, this is a FILM THREAD, not the cafe corner mini/wink.

My point is it almost being the main focus of this thread. I'm sure he already understands now that you people don't like swearing.

Thank you for linking that, it gave me a good laugh.

Anyway SithSirenity, to be honest, I didn't enjoy this... compilation. Like others have said, you have okay animation, but you waste it on poorly thought out 10 second long animations that aren't memorable or fun to watch. You could make a good brickfilm if you put in the effort. Work on developing stories that are intriguing or funny or suspenseful etc instead of animating the first thing that comes to mind in order to make weekly animations to pull in an audience.

Re: LEGO PPL 2

Actually, I liked your ...animation! Of course, it's not a proper brickfilm and the animation was a bit random (even if generally speaking not too bad) but most of all, the video was entertaining. At least for me.

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: 9/10
QUALITY OF BRICKFILM: Can't say, because it's impossible to call this a film.

In my opinion this gets bashed a little too much. And just to be clear about this: yes, it is a rip-off of asdf movie but only of the concept, the jokes he created himself.

So yeah. A little difficult to judge this one, I'd say.

Re: LEGO PPL 2

Well the maniac commented on MY video eh? cool. And yeah I'm working on a 3 minute video. I'm done with short stuff. I sold out this summer since I became partner and wanted to make lots of vids for lots of money but everyone seems mad:P so yeah I'm taking everyones words to heart and I will make a long film! I plan on being a well known animator, not some noob sellout. Sorry everyone! I'm working on it!

Re: LEGO PPL 2

I don't think your bad at filming:D ....a lot of people just don't like swearing on BiM:(
I like the one with the train...it made me laugh:lol:

Re: LEGO PPL 2

The problem isn't the fact that there are swear words included - swearing in general is fine if it's used to intensify the situation (in a serious film) or if it's used for genuine comic effect (which takes quite some skill). The actual problem has been dealt with, I won't bother repeating it.

And stop giving asdfmovie all the credit. Stick Figures on Crack (13+, viewer discretion advised) came waaay before that.
